WhatsApp has announced that in the coming days it will support only Android 5.0 version or later OS. According to Whatsapp, currently its app is running on Android OS 4.1 and above. It also supports iPhone iOS 12 and newer versions. Also, WhatsApp works on KaiOS 2.5.0 and later OS i.e. JioPhone and JioPhone 2. This is going to change from 24 October 2023. These changes are for Android devices. Whatsapp will work only on those Android devices which run on Android 5.0 and above. There are still such devices in the market which are working on OS older than Android 5.0. These especially include smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Xoom, HTC Desire HD, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3. As soon as you click, you will see the details related to the phone. It also contains OS version information.
