Whatsapp will work only on those Android devices which run on Android 5.0 and above. There are still such devices in the market which are working on OS older than Android 5.0. These especially include smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Xoom, HTC Desire HD, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3.
