New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday (October 12) carried out searches at round 41 places together with at Srinagar, Anantnag, Banihal, Baramulla, Jammu, Doda, Rajouri, Kishtwar in Jammu & Kashmir, Leh, Delhi and Bhind (Madhya Pradesh) on the official and residential premises of round 14 then public servants and a few personal people in a case associated to Arms licence racket.
CBI had registered two instances on the allegations of bulk issuance of arms licenses within the erstwhile state of J&Okay throughout the interval 2012 to 2016. It was alleged that greater than 2.78 lakh arms licences have been issued to the non-entitled individuals.
“Throughout searches, Incriminating paperwork together with issuance of arms licenses, checklist of beneficiaries, paperwork associated to funding in FDRs & different sale proceeds, property paperwork, checking account particulars, locker keys, diary comprising incriminating particulars, arms license Registers, digital devices/cell phones and a few money together with outdated foreign money have been recovered,” mentioned CBI in a press release.
The company mentioned that sure gun sellers in connivance with the general public servants had allegedly issued such unlawful arms licenses to the ineligible individuals.
