Chhattisgarh conflict: BJP protests Congress ‘inaction’

A day after violence in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district, allegedly over spiritual flags of two communities, the Opposition BJP Wednesday protested towards the ruling Congress on the district headquarters of Kawardha city.
On Tuesday, a protest by a right-wing group turned violent. Defying curfew, a 3,000-strong mob bearing batons and swords, broken homes and automobiles. This culminated in stone pelting, leaving a number of folks injured. The Kabirdham police mentioned 70 folks have been arrested.
Alleging that the protest, which had the social gathering’s help, went uncontrolled due to police “inaction”, the BJP staged a sit-in on the district headquarters. The delegation comprised former ministers Brijmohan Agarwal, Krishnamurti Bandhi and Chief of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik.
