DHFL rip-off: CBI seizes AgustaWestland helicopter from Pune premises of builder Avinash Bhosale

The CBI has seized an AgustaWestland helicopter from the premises of builder Avinash Bhosale in Pune in reference to the Rs 34,615-crore financial institution fraud case involving DHFL, officers mentioned Saturday.

The CBI has been finishing up searches at varied areas for the previous few days to find belongings acquired from the proceeds of the rip-off, officers mentioned.

The federal probe company had booked Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL), its former CMD Kapil Wadhawan, Director Deepak Wadhawan and others on June 20 within the financial institution fraud case value Rs 34,615 crore, making it the largest such case probed by the company, officers mentioned.

It was alleged that they’d cheated a consortium of 17 banks led by Union Financial institution of India by siphoning off Rs 34,615 crore financial institution loans by diverting them utilizing falsified account books of DHFL.

They allegedly used shell corporations and a parallel accounting system, often called ‘Bandra Books’, to siphon off public funds in DHFL by disbursing cash to fictitious entities as retail loans.
