rime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the June 26 incident where BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya beat up a civic official with a cricket bat during a demolition drive in Indore. Akash Vijayvargiya is Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya’s son.

PM Modi, who was addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meet in New Delhi, expressed his anger over the Akash Vijayvargiya incident. He said this sort of behaviour is not acceptable and those who encourage such behaviour should also be sacked.

The prime minister said he did not care whose son Akash is and that such people should be sacked from the party. “I don’t care whose son was behind the incident, it was completely unwarranted and not acceptable,” PM Modi told BJP MPs in the party meeting.

He also slammed those who had started firing guns when Akash Vijayvargiya was released from jail saying that those who went to welcome him should also be thrown out of the party.

Coming out of the meet, BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “PM Modi today conveyed a clear message to all the party members that such behaviour is not acceptable, be it anyone.”

Akash Vijayvargiya (34), a first-time MLA who represents Indore-3 assembly segment, was caught on TV cameras assaulting municipal officer Dhirendra Singh Bais with a cricket bat Wednesday while opposing demolition of a dilapidated house.
