Governor Mrs. Patel launches saree based on Khajuraho World Heritage Series, weavers engraved Kandariya Mahadev temple on saree Bhopal: Monday, February 22, 2021, 19:34 IST Governor Mrs. Anandiben Patel of Madhya Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation under Khajuraho World Heritage Series The saree based on the temples of Khajuraho was launched by the weavers at Raj Bhavan today. Managing Director of Handicrafts Development Corporation Mr. Rajiv Sharma and General Manager Mahesh Gulati were present on the occasion. The Governor Smt. Patel appreciated the Kandariya Mahadev Temple built on weavers by the weavers and said that this craft is a wonderful piece of art and successful in the work of artisans. Giving information to the governor, it was told that the weavers of Chanderi and Maheshwar carved the temples of Khajuraho on sarees. The next plan of the Handicrafts Development Corporation is to create a textile chain based on the Ghats of Maheshwar and the fort of Gwalior. On this occasion, Governor Smt. Patel was presented Angavastra by the officials of the Handicrafts Development Corporation, in which the Buddhist Stupa at Sanchi has been constructed by the weavers.
