Leader of Opposition in the House Dharamlal Kaushik raised the issue of post mortem report, TS Singhdev replied

The third day of the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly is in progress. The Leader of Opposition raised the issue of post-mortem report during the Question Hour in the House. In response, Health Minister TS Singhdev said that it is a rule to make the report available to the investigating officer (police department) within 7 days. In the Question Hour, Dharamlal Kaushik said that the post-mortem report was delayed. He sought district-wise information of pending post-mortem report from Health Minister Singhdev. Health Minister Singhdev said that a total of 317 reports are pending. He said that some books of autopsy also required consultation with journals and senior doctors. Post-mortem report is pending in some cases due to lack of medical experts and excess of departmental academic and other work. Police departments can receive reports submitted to the Department of Forensic Medicine.
