Shillong: Meghalaya BJP vice-president Bernard N Marak who’s accused of working a intercourse racket at his farmhouse within the state was arrested in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a senior Police officer stated.
Marak, a former militant chief, is absconding following a police raid on the farmhouse at Tura within the state’s West Garo Hills district, from the place six minors have been rescued and 73 individuals have been arrested on Saturday.

“Bernard N Marak alias Rimpu has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh. A workforce is being despatched there to deliver him to Tura,” district Superintendent of Police Vivekanand Singh instructed PTI. The BJP chief was arrested in Hapur district by the UP police, hours after the authorities in Meghalaya issued a glance out discover in opposition to him, Singh stated.
