Rajasthan woman kidnapped, raped repeatedly rescued after 22 days; accused arrested

A 14-year-old woman who was allegedly kidnapped by her distant relative, raped repeatedly and compelled to work at a building website has been rescued from Pokaran in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan after 22 days, police stated on Friday.
The 45-year-old accused has been arrested and the woman despatched to a shelter residence in Kota after being produced earlier than a baby welfare committee.
A case of abduction was registered at Itawa police station on February 10.
The woman was rescued on Thursday from Pokaran the place she was held captive, repeatedly raped by the accused and compelled to work at a developing website, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Itawa, Vijayshankar Sharma stated.

The accused has been booked below related sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was produced earlier than a courtroom on Friday that despatched him in police custody for a day, the police officer stated.
