Xiaomi’s third-generation Mi A series phone is here in India. It is the Xiaomi Mi A3. As we at India Today Tech said in the quick review of the phone that the Mi A3 is a massive upgrade to the Mi A2 in almost all aspects. The specs sheet and design of the Mi A3 are all great but what is even better is — the price. The Mi A3 Android One phone is Rs 1,000 cheaper than the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The India price of the Xiaomi Mi A3 starts at Rs 12,999 while the price of the Redmi Note 7 Pro is set at Rs 13,999.
The question now is — should you pay Rs 1,000 extra for the Redmi Note 7 Pro or settle for the Mi A3 instead? Well, the answer to this is slightly tricky. But we will try to answer it. Before that let’s see what the company has to say about this. In an interaction with the Xiaomi India team, we at India Today Tech asked about the Mi A3’s pricing strategy and whether the Rs 12,999 price tag of the Mi A3 will be a threat to the Redmi Note 7 Pro sales in India — Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphone this year in the country.
Speaking of the Rs 1,000 difference between the Mi A3 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Manu Jain, Xiaomi Global VP and India MD said that Mi A3 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro are targeted to a different set of audience. “Mi A3 is for the users who want stock Android experience in their smartphones while the Redmi Note 7 Pro is for the MiFans or people who love MIUI OS,” Jain says.
