Biswanath: Seventeen Bangladeshis, together with a “non secular preacher”, have been arrested from a distant location in Assam’s Biswanath district on Saturday on prices of violating visa norms, a senior police officer mentioned. These arrested had beforehand visited non secular locations in different elements of India, the officer mentioned. Biswanath superintendent of police Navin Singh advised PTI that the group was apprehended from the Baghmari space of the district. That they had reached Biswanath on September 13 by bus from Cooch Behar district in West Bengal and have been engaged in “non secular preaching”, he mentioned.
“Syed Ashraful Alam, a preacher, was main the group”, with the opposite members being his “followers”, the SP mentioned. “The non secular preacher was engaged in spreading his teachings in distant areas of Baghmari and had already taken 500 folks there as his disciples.

The police officer mentioned the group had visited different non secular locations like Ajmer Sharif earlier than coming to Assam. “We had a tip-off that these 17 folks have been participating in actions like non secular preaching, which isn’t allowed by foreigners coming into on a vacationer visa. We verified the data and arrested them,” Singh added.
