Gautam Gambhir (97) and MS Dhoni (91) vs Sri Lanka: World Cup 2011 Final

These two are those innings which brought back the World Cup glory to India after 28 years. India was behind at 31/2 against Sri Lanka. But then, Gautam Gambhir counterattacked and scored 97 runs in 122 balls with the help of nine fours. After Virat Kohli was out for 35 runs, captain MS Dhoni came on the field and made a match-winning partnership of 109 runs for the fourth wicket with Gautam. Dhoni scored unbeaten 91 runs in 79 balls with the help of eight fours and two sixes. The sorrow associated with the crushing defeat to Australia in the 2003 World Cup final went away with the winning six. Mahi finished the match in his style and the result was in favor of India. India became world champion for the second time.

Ricky Ponting (140) vs India: World Cup 2003 Final

Indian spectators around the world heaved a sigh of relief when the opening century partnership between Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden came to an end. Due to which the Australian team was reduced to 125/2. But no one had any idea of the devastation that would occur after this. Ricky Ponting stepped onto the crease and, partnering with Damien Martyn (88*), attacked the Indian bowlers vigorously. The Indian team could not take any further wickets and Ponting returned to the pavilion after scoring 140* runs in 121 balls with the help of four fours and eight skyscraper sixes. Australia reached 359/2. They defended their total easily and India suffered one of the toughest defeats in the history of the game.

Kapil Dev (175*) vs Zimbabwe: World Cup 1983

India needed to win the match against Zimbabwe to keep their semi-final hopes alive, but some lethal fast bowling from Peter Rawson and Kevin Curran dashed India’s ambitions. Due to which India was reduced to 17/5. India would have faced a crushing defeat, but Kapil Dev was the last hope. This all-rounder proved to be the ultimate savior for India, scoring 175* runs in 138 balls with the help of 16 fours and six sixes. Martin Guptill (237) vs West Indies: World Cup 2015

When Chris Gayle scored 219 against Zimbabwe in the 2015 World Cup and became the first non-Indian player to do so, it seemed that Gayle’s innings would not be challenged for years. However, after a few days, Kiwi opener Martin Guptill presented another masterclass against Gayle’s team. Guptill brutally thrashed every West Indies bowler and scored 237 runs in 163 balls with the help of 24 fours and 11 sixes, which till date is the highest score in the history of the World Cup and the second highest score in ODI cricket. New Zealand bowled out West Indies for 250 runs, while the target was 394.

Yuvraj Singh (113 & 2/18) vs West Indies: World Cup 2011

The group stage match between India and West Indies was a match like any other until Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh coughed up blood on the pitch and vomited in the dressing room. Apart from those circumstances and equations, Yuvraj was unknowingly fighting the biggest battle of his life against cancer. But despite this, Yuvraj did not give up, scored 113 runs and helped India win the match by taking 2 wickets for 18 runs. This match and performance defined Yuvraj’s 2011 World Cup campaign. A supernatural effort that helped India win the World Cup after 28 years while fighting a life-threatening illness. In the entire tournament he scored 362 runs and took 15 wickets.

Lasith Malinga (4/54) vs South Africa: World Cup 2007

Malinga’s magic is visible only as a fast bowler. But with this Malinga became the first bowler in international cricket to take four wickets in four consecutive balls. They forced South Africa to almost justify their “chokers” tag by reducing nine wickets to 207 runs while chasing the target of 210 runs until Robin Pietersen scored the winning run. South Africa won a resultless Super Eight match, but Malinga created history.

Sourav Ganguly (183) vs Sri Lanka World Cup 1999

In India’s group stage match against Sri Lanka, Ganguly played one of the best innings by an Indian in World Cup history. His innings of 183 runs in 158 balls with the help of 17 fours and seven sixes and 318-run partnership with Rahul Dravid (145) took India to the match-winning score of 373/6. This knock gradually led to an aggressive approach throughout Indian batting, which was visible in the subsequent World Cups.

    Gary Gilmour (28* & 6/14) vs England: World Cup 1975 Semi-Final

Playing on home soil, England were favorites against Australia in the semi-finals of the 1975 World Cup. Later, chasing the target of 94 runs, Australia won by four wickets. Gilmour scored an unbeaten 28 runs with the bat. He took 6 wickets for 14 runs in 12 overs.

He completed one of the most devastating hat-tricks in the history of cricket. He produced figures of 6/25 in 9.1 overs, which helped Bangladesh bowl out 124 runs. Sri Lanka won with 10 wickets remaining.

Eoin Morgan (148) vs Afghanistan: World Cup 2019

  • This is Tamil Nadu’s first female tribal pilot MM Jayashree.

    Devendra kumar

Seeing the Air Force’s fighter planes and small planes used for defense training circling in the Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu, a little girl was so impressed that she decided in her childhood that she just wanted to become a pilot. Finally, after nearly two decades, his dream has come true. This is the success story of 27 year old MM Jayashree, resident of Kothagiri, Tamil Nadu. Jayashree’s story is special because she is the first female tribal pilot of Tamil Nadu. Kurukuti is a small village near Kothagiri region of Tamil Nadu. A very quiet green area, away from the crowd and noise. A tribal woman named Jayshree living here has taken flight with her dreams. 27 year old Jayashree has created history by becoming the first female tribal pilot of Tamil Nadu. Surprisingly, Jayshree is also the first pilot of her community. Jayashree, who belongs to the Badga tribal community, has had to face a lot of struggle to reach this position. There were many obstacles in her path to achieve this goal, but she remained steadfast. Its result is in front of everyone today.

I wanted to become a pilot since childhood.

Jayashree was born in Kurukuti near Kothagiri in Nilgiri district. His father J Mani was a retired village administrative officer, while mother Meenamani was a musician. There are many tribal villages in the Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu, in which girls study less. Despite this, Jayashree’s parents left no stone unturned in educating their daughter. Jayshree did her early studies from Kothagiri only. During that time, he enjoyed watching the Air Force fighter planes and small planes used for defense training flying in the Nilgiri Hills. After this he decided that he wanted to become a pilot.

But, there was no one in his village to tell him what one had to study to become a pilot. So, he left his childhood dream for some time and enrolled in Master in Computer Science and Engineering in a college in Coimbatore. Then she worked in an IT company and became a business analyst. During this time he mastered machine learning and data analytics.

    Dreams took flight in Corona

However, everything was going well in Jayshree’s life. I was getting a high salary from my IT job, but my dream of becoming a pilot was almost shattered. Meanwhile, Corona brought an opportunity in his life. In fact, after the nationwide lockdown, she returned to her home and started doing her work from home. Initially, working from home seemed great, but he did not like being confined to four walls. During this time he realized that this job was not for him. Then he discovered his passion. Initially, when she told her family that she wanted to take flying training abroad, everyone opposed her decision. At the same time, Jayshree remained adamant on her point. In the end his family also had to bow to his insistence.

    Enrolled in African flying school

Jayashree left her IT job and started working as a teacher at Wellington Army Public School near Coonoor. In 6 months he learned about the intricacies of aviation. After this he applied to Ulkan Aviation Institute in South Africa. During this time, relatives and people from the neighborhood scolded his parents a lot. Relatives often taunted that what was the need to spend so much money to send the girl abroad. Despite this, Jayshree did not listen to anyone and took a flight to Johannesburg. At the Aviation Institute, he worked hard to realize his dream and successfully completed this rigorous training. As a pilot, he circled in the sky for 70 hours. Also flew for about 250 hours to obtain a commercial pilot license. She was successful in obtaining a commercial pilot license. In this way, she has become the first young woman of Badaga tribe to achieve this feat.

Jayashree teaches needy children in her spare time.

Jayashree, the first young female pilot of the Badaga tribe, has also been actively participating in social work. In her spare time during her IT job, she joined the U&I Trust and was spreading the flame of education among the needy children in the tribal villages of Nilgiri Hills. She used to teach English and Math to children. She also provided training in Artificial Intelligence to school children and college students. She believes that even though she has become a pilot today, she will continue to be associated with such activities in future also.

  • Twitter fined Rs 50 lakh for not obeying central government’s order, know the whole matter

The Karnataka High Court on Friday rejected Twitter’s petition against the central government’s order. The Center had asked Twitter to block some accounts, tweets and URLs, which the company did not agree to. The order was challenged in court. The court said that the company’s petition has no basis. While hearing the case, Justice Krishna S. Dixit’s single bench imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on Twitter and directed to deposit the fine amount within 45 days. According to PTI report, Justice Dixit, while rejecting Twitter’s plea, said that he agreed with the Centre’s argument that the government has the power to block tweets and ban accounts. Between 10 different orders issued by the Central Government were challenged. Twitter had earlier claimed that the government had directed it to block 1474 Twitter accounts, 175 tweets, 256 URLs and one hashtag, but only the orders related to 39 URLs were challenged in the court. The court had reserved its decision in this case on April 21, which was pronounced today. Twitter had described the government orders as arbitrary and against freedom of expression. Despite knowing that there is a provision of 7 years imprisonment and fine for not following the Centre’s order, Twitter did not follow the orders. In its decision, the court told Twitter that you are a company worth billions of dollars, not a farmer or a common man who is not aware of the law. The Central Government Minister has also reacted to this decision. Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrashekhar has said that Twitter’s decision to challenge the government notice in court to block some accounts was actually part of the ‘fictitious story’ put forward by the company’s former CEO Jack Dorsey.

All platforms hv to be in compliance with Indian law n @Twitter under @jack repeatedly refused to do so. In response to @GoI_MeitY ‘s notice for non-compliance they approached Karnataka High Court n judgment ✅Karnataka High Court has dismissed the petition filed by…— Rajeev Chandrasekhar (@Rajeev_GoI) June 30, 2023

It is noteworthy that former Twitter CEO Dorsey had recently claimed that the Indian government had warned of shutting down the company in the country and raiding its employees if Twitter posts were not removed and Twitter accounts were not banned. Dorsey had claimed that the posts and accounts that were pressured to be removed were related to protests against agricultural laws and criticism of the government. The minister said that the court order makes it clear that all platforms should be banned in India. The law has to be followed.

According to MS Mani, partner, Deloitte India, the September GST collection is a good sign for the upcoming months of the festive season and reflects the upturn in the economy.
