  • Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Calls For 'Freedom Of Kashmiris, Palestinians' In Victory Speech | world news

ISLAMABAD: Addressing the National Assembly after being picked as the next prime minister of the ruling coalition of the PML(N), PPP and other small outfits, Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday called out the 'global silence' on the prevailing situation in Gaza while seeking a bipartisan resolution in the House advocating 'freedom' for Kashmiris and Palestinians, Dawn reported.

“Let's all come together…and the National Assembly should pass a resolution for the freedom of Kashmiris and Palestinians,” PM-designate Shehbaz said in a 'victory speech' at the Assembly. The Pakistan National Assembly on Sunday elected Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif as the 24th elected Prime Minister of the country, during a session that started with Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) members creating a ruckus by shouting slogans.

The PM-designate stated further that amid the severe economic downturn in the country and livelihood concerns of the people, even the expenditures of the National Assembly were being paid by borrowed money, Dawn reported. He replied that the biggest challenge for Pakistan was that “all of the expenditure was being met via loans only”, the report noted.

“All of these (expenses for running the House) is being met via loans over the last few years. This is the biggest challenge faced by the country today,” he said. “All of our salaries are being paid via taxes. Does such a situation warrant such hooliganism?” he added, in a veiled dig at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and other rival voices who have been contesting the results of the February 8 general elections.

He also rued the debt crisis that the country is grappling with, Dawn added in its report. Meanwhile, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said his party leadership decided to go to the Parliament despite its reservations over the poll outcome in the country.

Despite its decision to participate in the session of the newly elected National Assembly, Rehman said his party's original position to reject the 2024 elections was being proven right. “In the history of Pakistan, we used to think that 2018 was the biggest rigging that took place in the general election, however, 2024 has broken that record,” Rehman said in Karachi.

This was such a murder case that even the police were stunned for a moment after the murder mystery was solved. Actually, this murder was carried out by none other than the friend of the deceased for just Rs 500. The only fault of the deceased Hansram was that he mortgaged the mobile phone of one of the accused, Amardeep, for Rs 500 and with the same money, all three of them drank alcohol together, after which on receiving a call on the mobile, the accused Amardeep asked for the mobile phone from the deceased Hansram. On which he refused to give it and started saying to return the mortgage amount and take the mobile, due to which a dispute started between the three of them. The dispute escalated so much that accused Amardeep hit the deceased with a stick on his jaw, rendering him unconscious and then fatally attacked him. During the investigation of the case, the incident site was carefully inspected. The dead body of the deceased was two-three days old, only the bone of the leg was visible due to it being torn by animals and a knot was tied around the neck. As soon as the matter prima facie seemed suspicious, the dog squad team and forensic team were immediately called to the spot. The dog squad team reached Tedhadhaura check, which received input regarding bringing the deceased through that route. Also, the forensic team stated the fact that the deceased was hit in the jaw with a solid object and the incident seemed to have happened due to an argument or some rivalry.

    Murder revealed in post mortem

SSP Girija Shankar Jaiswal formed a special team for quick investigation of the case. Important clues found from CCTV

On the basis of CCTV footage and information received from informers, it was revealed that the deceased Hansram Jangde had last gone towards the village with some people from the liquor shop. On this basis, the process of questioning the people seen in CCTV was traced and started. During this, the deceased along with suspects Amardeep alias Deepu Baghel and Ritesh alias Bholu, both residents of Lachanpur, were found leaving the liquor shop on a motorcycle. After which the police detained both the suspects.

    Revealed during interrogation of suspects

During interrogation of both the suspects, it became clear that the suspect Amardeep had mortgaged his mobile to the deceased near a liquor shop for Rs 500 and all three drank liquor with that money. From the liquor shop, all three left together on a motorcycle to return to the village. Meanwhile, while going back to village Tedhadhaura, when accused Amardeep received a call on his mobile, the accused asked for the mobile from the deceased but the deceased promised to give the mobile only after returning Rs 500. Due to which there was an argument between the deceased Hansram Jangde and the accused and the accused Amardeep attacked the deceased with a stick near his jaw due to which he became unconscious. After that the accused again fatally attacked the deceased with a wood, due to which he died. After the murder, the accused Amardeep and Ritesh took out the money kept in the pocket of the deceased and threw his body in the Tedhadhaura government pond and covered the body with Besharam plant. In this case, the police have seized the stick and motorcycle used in the incident from the accused.

  • Online Scam: Elderly Man Ends Up Losing 3 Lakhs In Fake Electricity Bill Scam |

New Delhi: In today’s digital age, online scams have become a prevalent threat, targeting individuals of all ages and backgrounds. With the rise of technology and the widespread use of the internet, cybercriminals are continuously devising new ways to exploit unsuspecting victims for financial gain. Today’s story is based on a recent incident involving a doctor in his 70s who faced a harsh lesson.

According to reports from TOI, the 77-year-old doctor fell prey to an online scam, losing around Rs 3 lakh. The scam was perpetrated by someone pretending to be a representative of the electricity provider, who targeted the elderly doctor by claiming there were unsettled bills. Investigators suspect the involvement of an organized group behind this deceptive scheme. (Also Read: AI-Enabled Advanced Hearing Aids May Help People With Hearing Loss, Say Experts)

    Threatening Message from Strange Number

The doctor shared his frightening experience, explaining that on February 23, he got a threatening message from a strange number claiming to be from BSES. The message said his power would be cut off right away if he didn’t pay overdue bills that day. Feeling pressured, the doctor called the number given and was pushed into paying Rs 10 for what he thought was an upgrade. Then, he was told to click on a link where he accidentally gave his debit card information. (Also Read: Flipkart Launches Its UPI Handle To Boost India’s Digital Economy Vision)

    Registration of case

After ending the call, the doctor was surprised to find out that five transactions he didn’t authorize had taken a lot of money from his bank account. What was even more surprising was that he didn’t get any request for OTP verification while this was happening. He quickly told the cyber cell about what happened, and they registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, like cheating, impersonation, and criminal conspiracy.

    E-wallet hacked

More digging into the scam showed how much damage it caused. The person behind it set up call forwarding to stop the doctor from getting calls and messed with his WhatsApp account by sending out inappropriate stuff. On top of that, the doctor’s e-wallet got hacked, and even his Aadhaar Card details were changed, showing how tricky the scam was.

Two more complaints on same number

The police said they got two more complaints about the same phone number, showing that there’s a group working together. They’re taking serious steps to catch the people involved, like looking at call records and internet details linked to the phone number. Several teams are working hard to find and catch the people behind this plan.
