  • UK Woman Discovers Baby’s Rare Eye Cancer Using Phone Flash; Read The Full Story |

New Delhi: A woman named Sarah Hedges from London noticed something unusual about her infant’s son’s eye. She claims to have detected her infant son’s rare cancer through the flash on her phone’s camera. Sara Hedges, support worker from Kent, found herself in the midst of an ordinary evening in November 2022 while she was cooking dinner.

Suddenly, Sarah noticed something strange, a bright white glow coming from her son’s eye. As reported by the New York Post, she said the strange glow was like the reflection in a cat’s eye. She then took pictures with her phone’s flash on, trying to see it again. (Also Read: Govt Clears 3 Semiconductor Plants With Investment Of Rs 1.26 Lakh Crore)

At first, Ms. Hedges, who is 40 years old, couldn’t see the white glow again and thought it might have been because of the lighting. But she couldn’t shake off the feeling of doubt, so she tried moving her son, Thomas, to different rooms with different lighting. Eventually, she saw the glow again. Afterward, Ms. Hedges quickly searched on Google for more information. The results suggested that her son could have cancer. She took more pictures and then went to the doctor, who sent her to Medway Hospital for more tests.

The three-month-old baby was diagnosed with retinoblastoma which is a rare and aggressive type of eye cancer that mostly affects babies and young kids, as per the report. Ms. Hedges remembered, “The doctor called us back into his room to discuss the results. I was in the bathroom. When I came out, he was waiting for me. I knew then it wasn’t good news – no doctor waits for someone outside the toilet, do they?”

Ms. Hedges asked the doctor if it was cancer before he said anything, and he confirmed that it was not good news.

Thomas was sent to the Royal London Hospital where he underwent six rounds of chemotherapy starting in November 2022. He faced sepsis during the treatment but completed his last round of chemotherapy in April 2023. Thankfully, he was declared free of cancer in May.

Sarah Hedges mentioned that Thomas is doing much better now. She describes him as “cheeky little boy” who enjoys playing rough and tumble with his older brother.

According to the National Health Service (NHS), retinoblastoma is a rare kind of eye cancer that mostly affects children under three years old. It can affect one or both eyes, targeting the back part of the eye known as the retina. Common signs of retinoblastoma include a white glow in the eye, especially visible in certain lights, or a squint. Other signs may include changes in how the eye looks or a swollen eye, though often only one sign is noticeable.

  • Iran’s Second Surgical Strike On Pakistan Within 40 Days; Know All About Jaish al-Adl Terror Outfit | world news

Within 40 days of carrying out a targeted missile attack on terrorist groups inside Pakistan, Iran yesterday once again carried out a surgical strike on its neighbour. Iran’s state-run media claimed that the country’s forces killed senior Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) militant group commander Ismail Shahbakhsh and other terrorists by entering the Pakistan territory. Iran’s forces, in an armed clash, attacked a militant group, one month after the two countries conducted air strikes on each other.

Iran has accused Pakistan of inaction against terrorist groups alleging that these groups carry out terror attacks inside Tehran’s territory.

    Iran’s attack is going on in Pakistan! #Pakistan #Iran #Attack #WorldNews | @JournoPranay pic.twitter.com/0Jc8enH7mT — Zee News (@ZeeNews) February 25, 2024

    Who Are Jaish al-Adl?

Jaish al-Adl is a Pakistan-based terror group formed in 2012. It has been designated as a ‘terrorist’ organization by Iran. It is a Sunni terrorist group that operates in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan. Iran shares around 900 km of border with Pakistan and is suffering from terrorism just like India due to Pakistan.

Over time, Jaish al-Adl has carried out multiple attacks targeting Iranian security forces. In December, the group claimed responsibility for an assault on a police station in Sistan-Balochistan, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 11 police personnel.

    January 16 Missile Attack

Tensions between Iran and Pakistan escalated following mutual missile strikes targeting alleged “terror units.” Iran conducted missile and drone strikes in Pakistan on the night of January 16, targeting two significant headquarters of Jaish al-Adl. Pakistan claimed that the strikes led to the unfortunate death of two children and the injury of three girls. In response, Pakistan withdrew its ambassador from Iran on January 17 and declared that the Iranian envoy, who was visiting Pakistan at the time, would not be allowed to return as a protest against what Islamabad deemed a ‘blatant breach’ of its sovereignty.

The situation further intensified on January 18, when Pakistan launched retaliatory strikes inside Iran. Islamabad stated that the strikes targeted hideouts used by “terrorist militant organizations,” specifically mentioning the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).

    Failed Peace Attempt

After both the countries hit each other, they mutually agreed to expand security cooperation. They agreed on the return of ambassadors of both countries to their respective posts and also decided to mutually work for the ‘de-escalation’ of tensions. Both Iran and Pakistan stated that they can resolve ‘misunderstandings’ fairly quickly. The two countries also agreed to fight terrorism in their respective areas and allay each other’s concerns, he added. However, yesterday’s surgical strike again shows that those were mere rhetoric and Iran doesn’t trust Pakistan on terrorism.

  • Watch: Kane Williamson’s Unfortunate Run Out Amid Mid-Pitch Collision Shocks Cricket World | cricket news

In a startling turn of events during the Wellington Test between New Zealand and Australia, Kane Williamson, the captain of the Black Caps, found himself run out for a duck after a mid-pitch collision with his teammate Will Young. The incident unfolded on day two of the match, adding to the woes of the New Zealand side already facing a formidable challenge from the Australian team.

KANE WILLIAMSON IS RUN OUT IN TEST CRICKET FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 12 YEARS…!!! _pic.twitter.com/KRheTm61sg — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) March 1, 2024

    The Run Out

Williamson’s dismissal came as a result of a mix-up between him and Young while attempting a quick single. Facing Mitchell Starc’s delivery, Williamson directed the ball towards mid-off and called for the run. However, in the midst of the urgency, a collision between the two batsmen ensued, leading to Williamson’s untimely exit from the crease.

    The Fallout

The run-out of Kane Williamson, often considered one of New Zealand’s finest Test cricketers, dealt a significant blow to the Black Caps’ aspirations in the match. The loss of such a key wicket early on further strengthened Australia’s position at the Basin Reserve.

    Reactions

The cricketing fraternity was left in disbelief at the unfortunate turn of events. Commentators expressed astonishment at the calamitous run-out, highlighting the rarity of such incidents at the highest level of the game. Former players from both sides lamented the missed opportunity for Williamson and the detrimental impact on New Zealand’s prospects.

    Williamson’s Form

Prior to this setback, Williamson had been in sublime form, particularly on home soil, where he had amassed six Test centuries in the past 18 months. His consistent performances had been pivotal in bolstering New Zealand’s batting lineup, making his early departure all the more disappointing for the home team.

    Australia’s Dominance

Meanwhile, Australia capitalized on the momentum gained from Williamson’s dismissal, further tightening their grip on the match. The impressive performance by Cameron Green, coupled with a resilient lower-order partnership, had already propelled Australia to a commanding total of 383 runs in the first innings.
