  • As RCB crash out of IPL 2024, Virat Kohli’s tendency to fail in knockouts is huge worry for India in T20 World Cup 2024 | Cricket News

It has happened again. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have crashed out of IPL 2024. If you are an RCB fan, you must be very upset or agitated right now. You have seen it before and you are seeing it now. You have every right to feel rejected. While the players must not get trolled and hated online, the correct questions should be asked. First and foremost to Virat Kohli, who is the oldest face in this franchise, playing for them since 2008. RCB just doesn’t seem to have the stomach for fight in the playoffs. They cannot cross the last few milestones.

Virat had a great season for them. He was one of the main reasons why RCB bounced back after winning six games on the trot. He says he does not listen to his criticism of batting strike rate but one saw how he employed sweep shots to good use to ensure runs came at good a pace. His strike rate in most of the matches at the latter stage of the tournament was over 200 which is a good sign for India as well. Having said that, Virat’s habit of not scoring enough runs in the knockouts of the big tournaments is still a big issue, both for RCB and India.

India have lost several semifinals and finals since 2013. RCB have made it to the playoffs and finals as well under his captaincy or when he played but Virat has been a poor performer in these crucial matches. What happens to him in playoffs is still an unsolved mystery.

Virat scored 33 off 24 balls but was done in Yuzvendra Chahal. On a track that required him to bat longer and deep, he lost his wicket in just the 8th over of the innings. RCB have now lost 10 matches in IPL playoffs, which is most by any team. That sort of concludes RCB and also Virat’s struggles.

RCB’s top-order required to bat well on a track that was not so poor to bat on as the Bengaluru team made it look like. Faf du Plessis, Virat, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar, who comprise the top four, failed to get starts or convert the starts into something substantial.

IPL is a thing of past now for Kohli. He shifts focus on the T20 World Cup 2024. The good thing is that he is looking to score with a better strike rate. He may or may not open for India at the mega event in USA and West Indies. But he is surely batting in the top 3. The Indian team would have taken a huge dose of confidence if Virat had led the team to an IPL victory with his brilliant performances in the playoffs and the final. It could have ended his series of failures in the knockouts. But sadly, that trend has not been broken.

India will be hoping that even if Virat does not have a solid T20 World Cup, his game peaks during the knockouts if Men in Blue qualify. India need match-winners in the knockouts. Yuvrajs, Gambhirs, Dhonis, Raina have all done the same in the past and that is why we have ICC trophies to show. It is about time a huge match-winner like Kohli delivers the goods in the knockouts.

  • Will Modi Return As Prime Minister For Third Time? US Political Scientist Makes Shocking Poll Prediction |

The Lok Sabha elections are just two weeks away from culmination and the anticipations are already high with both the BJP and the Congress claiming to have gained majority in the first five phases. While the BJP claimed to have crossed 300 seats so far, the Congress claimed that the BJP may not win more than 150 seats and the INDIA bloc will form a government when the results are announced early next month. Amid these claims by both alliances, a US-based political research analyst has made a shocking claim about the Indian Parliamentary poll results, which will be out on June 4.

Global political risk consultant Ian Bremmer claimed that the BJP may win 305 (+/-10) seats. Bremmer, founder of the Eurasia Group, told NDTV that his firm’s research shows that the BJP may win 295-315 seats. Talking about the general elections, Bremmer made a big remark saying that only the Indian parliamentary polls currently look consistent and stable given the global uncertainties including the US and the UK elections.

The BJP led by Narendra Modi had won 282 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls while it increased its seat tally to 303 in the 2019 polls. Narendra Modi has set a target of 370 seats for the BJP and over 400 for the NDA bloc. On the other hand, Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi predicted less than 200 seats for the NDA.

The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases and so far, 428 seats out of the 543 have gone to the polls. Voting for the 115 seats will be held in the next two phases while the counting of votes will be held on June 4. Besides the Parliamentary polls, assembly elections for two states – Odisha and Andhra Pradesh – were also held and their results will be announced along with the Lok Sabha polls.

  • IPL 2024, RR vs RCB: Virat created history, made this record which will remain ‘immortal’ for years

IPL 2024, RR vs RCB: Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are face to face in the eliminator match of IPL season 17. In this match held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, after losing the toss, RCB came on the field to bat first. Meanwhile, RCB opening batsman Virat Kohli has created a big record in the IPL. Actually, after scoring 29 runs in today’s match, Virat has completed his 8,000 runs in IPL. Virat has become the first batsman to achieve this feat.

Let us tell you that in terms of scoring the most runs in IPL history, Shikhar Dhawan is at second place, who currently has 6,769 runs in 222 matches. That means there is a huge difference of 1,235 runs between Kohli and Dhawan who are in first and second place.

Top 5 players who scored most runs in IPL

    RankPlayersRuns1Virat Kohli80042Shikhar Dhawan67693Rohit Sharma66284David Warner65655Suresh Raina5528

Let us tell you that in today’s match, as usual, Virat and Faf Du Plessis had come to open for RCB. But both of them could not do anything special. On the score of 37 in the fifth over, Trent Boult got Duplessis caught by Rovman Powell and dismissed him. He was out after scoring 17 runs in 14 balls with the help of two fours and a six. After this, Bengaluru got its second blow at the score of 56 in the eighth over. Whereas Kohli was out after scoring 33 runs in 24 balls, Chahal got him caught by Donovan Ferreira. In his innings of 33 runs, he hit three fours and one six.

Virat can break this record too

It is noteworthy that apart from becoming 8th Hazari, Virat Kohli also has a chance to destroy a record made by himself. Actually, Virat created a stir with the bat in the 2016 IPL. In that season, he played 16 matches and scored 973 runs, which is still the record for most runs in a single season of IPL.

Virat has scored 708 runs in IPL 2024

Talking about IPL 2024, like 2016, in this season too Virat is scoring runs with the bat. You can guess this from the fact that he has scored 741 runs in 15 matches so far this year. He is the only batsman who has crossed the 700 mark. They still need 232 runs from here. It is not a big deal for a batsman like Kohli to score in three matches. But for this Kohli will have to play a big innings. Not only this, a century will also be required from him but if Virat fails to do so, then he will have to wait for next year. If Bengaluru wins this match today, then how will Kohli perform in the next match.

  • Special conversation with Home Minister Vijay Sharma on rehabilitation policy, said- 5 states were studied, role of local journalists is important

Dr. Vaibhav Bemetariha, Raipur. The government wants to further improve the Naxal rehabilitation policy in Chhattisgarh. For this, Home Minister Vijay Sharma has sought advice directly from the Naxalites. Email ID and form were also released by Home Minister Sharma. The Home Minister held a meeting on this issue with officials and local journalists in Jagdalpur on Wednesday.

Lalluram.com talked to Home Minister Sharma regarding this issue. He informed that Naxal rehabilitation policy is in place in Chhattisgarh. But we want to make this policy even better. For this, the Home Department has also studied the policies of 5 states. After study, it can be said that the policy of Chhattisgarh is better than other states. Nevertheless, our aim is to make this policy more effective. With this objective, the Home Department has sought suggestions directly from the Naxalites. Email ID and form were also issued for this.

The Home Minister also informed that local journalists have a big and important role in making this policy better and successful. Of those journalists who report at the grassroots level, in the forests among the tribals and Naxalites. I have also met and discussed in detail with such journalists. Because Naxalites convey their message through these journalists only. We have also given email ID and form to the journalists. In true sense, the role of all sections of the society is important in ending the problem of Naxalism. And I consider journalists as a strong link between the government, society and those who work apart from the mainstream of society. I have requested the journalists regarding this topic. Hopefully we will get better results on this with time.

On the suggestion of talks through human rights activists, he said that if talks are held with both the parties, then they will definitely be held. But how can we talk to those who remain silent on the violence of Naxalites and do not say anything on the killing of innocent tribals or martyrdom of soldiers? I am ready to talk to all those who are ready to talk from both the sides. It will not be a one-sided talk.

On the question of Naxalites of Chhattisgarh surrendering in Andhra Pradesh, he said, “It is true that some Naxalites surrender in other states because their cadre works in Andhra and Telangana. This can also be a reason, there can be some other reasons as well. But in the last few months, Naxalites have surrendered in large numbers in Chhattisgarh. The Sai government and the Modi government have a clear policy on Naxalism. Its benefits are being seen on all fronts. We have given an open offer for talks. Along with this, retaliatory action is also being taken as per the need. The government’s policy is for complete peace and development in Bastar.

  • Prajwal Revanna Case: ‘Centre Yet to Respond To Karnataka’s Request To Cancel Diplomatic Passport’, Says Home Minister |

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Wednesday that the Centre had not responded to a request to cancel Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport based on an arrest warrant issued against the JD(S) leader accused of sexually abusing women. He also denied that the state government made mistakes in dealing with sexual abuse cases. He insisted that the Special Investigation Team was investigating the cases from every angle.

On Saturday, a Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant for Prajwal in response to the SIT’s application. Speaking with PTI Videos, Parameshwara stated that after the court issued the warrant, the state government wrote to the Centre urging it to cancel Prajwal’s dilomatic passport.

“Still nothing has come (from the Centre). The Centre also should help us, that’s what we are urging. There is no meaning in only criticising. The Centre should help us within the framework of the law,” Parameshwara told reporters here. “The Centre should have cancelled the diplomatic passport.”

Parameshwara stated that the chief minister had written a letter to the prime minister about the matter, and that cancelling Prajwal’s passport after a warrant is issued against him is the Centre’s responsibility. The 33-year-old Prajwal, the grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, and the NDA’s candidate for Hassan Lok Sabha seat, is accused of sexually abusing women on multiple occasions.

“Nothing has arrived (from the centre). The Centre should also assist us, as we have requested. There is no point in simply criticising. “The Centre should assist us within the confines of the law,” Parameshwara told reporters here. “The Centre should have cancelled the diplomatic passport.”

Parameshwara stated that the chief minister had written a letter to the prime minister about the matter, and that the Centre is responsible for cancelling Prajwal’s passport if a warrant is issued against him.

Prajwal, 33, the grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, and the NDA’s candidate for the Hassan Lok Sabha seat, has been accused of sexually abusing women on several occasions.

“In my political career, whether as chief minister now or previously, I have never done the dirty work of phone tapping. “I have not done so far and will not do so in the future,” Siddaramaiah stated. “Kumaraswamy is making such false statements to divert public attention from the Prajwal Revanna case.”

In a related development, the JD(S) complained to Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan on Wednesday about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi allegedly claiming that Prajwal “raped 400 women”. Former MLC and the party’s Bengaluru City president, H M Ramesh Gowda, urged the police in a complaint to file a criminal case against Gandhi under section 202 (Intentional omission to give information of an offence by a person legally bound to inform) of the Indian Penal Code for his alleged statement while addressing election rallies in Shivamogga and Raichur district headquarters on May 2.

The JD(S) leader cited Gandhi’s alleged statement that “Prajwal Revanna has raped 400 women and made videos.” This is not a sex scandal; it is mass rape. And, in front of the people of Karnataka, the Prime Minister supported and sought votes for this mass rapist. He means that if you vote for this mass rapist, it would help him.”

The complainant claimed that Gandhi, as a public servant, is obligated to provide information about the offence in order to ensure justice for the alleged victims. The complainant claimed that Gandhi, as a public servant, is obligated to provide information about the offence in order to ensure justice for the alleged victims.

In the meantime, Kumaraswamy issued another public appeal to his nephew Prajwal to return from abroad and face the investigation. The former Chief Minister also told the media that there are no differences between his party and its alliance partner, the BJP, regarding the allegations against Prajwal.”This case has nothing to do with the alliance,” Kumaraswamy stated in Mysuru.

Prajwal’s father and Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, who is himself accused of molestation and kidnapping, told Hassan residents on Wednesday that they should not be afraid because he and his father H D Deve Gowda were there to “protect them” in the wake of recent developments in the district.

MLA Revanna is currently on bail in two cases involving the abduction of a woman, her illegal detention, and sexual harassment. The woman who was kidnapped was seen in one of the leaked videos being tied and raped, allegedly by Revanna’s son Prajwal, according to the victim’s son in a police complaint.

“There is no reason to be afraid. Only time will tell. Until then, we must remain calm. I am there. A Manju, Swaroop P, and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda are present…” Revanna spoke at a press conference in Hassan.

The Holenarasipura MLA stated that his father, Deve Gowda, has protected the Hassan district for 60 years and will continue to do so now. “There is no reason to be afraid. We have the strength,” said the MLA who is accused in the alleged cases.

  • Norway, Ireland And Spain Say They Are Recognizing A Palestinian State In A Historic Move | world news

Israel: Norway, Ireland and Spain said Wednesday they are recognizing a Palestinian state in a historic move that drew condemnation from Israel and jubilation from the Palestinians. Israel immediately ordered back its ambassadors from Norway and Ireland.

The formal recognition will be made on May 28. The development is a step toward a long-held Palestinian aspiration that came against the backdrop of international outrage over the civilian death toll and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip following Israel’s offensive there.

In Jerusalem, meanwhile, a far-right government minister paid a provocative visit to a flashpoint holy site sacred to Jews and Muslims. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visit to the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which Jews refer to as the Temple Mount, was likely to escalate tensions across the region.

Norway was the first to announce its decision to recognize a Palestinian state, with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre saying “there cannot be peace in the Middle East if there is no recognition.”

“By recognizing a Palestinian state, Norway supports the Arab peace plan,” he said and added that the Scandinavian country will “regard Palestine as an independent state with all the rights and obligations that entails.”

Several European Union countries have in the past weeks indicated that they plan to make the recognition, arguing a two-state solution is essential for lasting peace in the region. The decision may generate momentum for the recognition of a Palestinian state by other EU countries and could spur further steps at the United Nations, deepening Israel’s isolation.

Norway, which is not a member of the EU but mirror its moves, has been an ardent supporter of a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians.

“The terror has been committed by Hamas and militant groups who are not supporters of a two-state solution and the state of Israel,” the Norwegian government leader said. “Palestine has a fundamental right to an independent state.”

Since the unprecedented attack by Hamas-led militants on Israel on Oct. 7, Israeli forces have led assaults on the northern and southern edges of the Gaza Strip in May, causing a new exodus of hundreds of thousands of people, and sharply restricted the flow of aid, raising the risk of famine.

Wednesday’s announcements come more than 30 years after the first Oslo agreement was signed in 1993. Since then, “the Palestinians have taken important steps toward a two-state solution,” the Norwegian government said.

It added that the World Bank determined that a Palestinian state had met key criteria to function as a state in 2011, that national institutions have been built up to provide the population with important services.

“The war in Gaza and the constant expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank still mean that the situation in Palestine is more difficult than it has been in decades,” it said.

In making his announcement, Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris said the move was coordinated with Spain and Norway — and that it was a “historic and important day for Ireland and for Palestine.” He said it was intended to help move the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to resolution through a two-state solution.

Harris said he thinks other countries will join Norway, Spain and Ireland in recognizing a Palestinian state “in the weeks ahead.”

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Spain’s Socialist leader since 2018, made the expected announcement to the nation’s Parliament on Wednesday. He had spent months touring European and Middle Eastern countries to garner support for the recognition, as well as for a possible cease-fire in Gaza. He has said several times that he was committed to the move.

“We know that this initiative won’t bring back the past and the lives lost in Palestine, but we believe that it will give the Palestinians two things that are very important for their present and their future: dignity and hope,” Sánchez said.

“This recognition is not against anyone, it is not against the Israeli people,” Sánchez added, while acknowledging that it will most likely cause diplomatic tensions with Israel. “It is an act in favor of peace, justice and moral consistency.”

Sánchez argued that the move is needed to support the viability of a two-state solution that he said “is in serious danger” with the war in Gaza.

“I have spent weeks and months speaking with leaders inside and outside of the region and if one thing is clear is that Prime Minister (Benjamin) Netanyahu does not have a project of peace for Palestine, even if the fight against the terrorist group Hamas is legitimate,” the Spanish leader said.

Earlier this month, Spain’s Foreign Minister José Albares said he had informed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken of his government’s intention to recognize a Palestinian state.

Hugh Lovatt, a senior policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, said “recognition is a tangible step toward a viable political track leading to Palestinian self-determination.”

But in order for it to have an impact, he said, it must come with “tangible steps to counter Israel’s annexation and settlement of Palestinian territory – such as banning settlement products and financial services.”

Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz ordered Israel’s ambassadors from Ireland and Norway to immediately return to Israel. He spoke before Spain’s announcement.

“Ireland and Norway intend to send a message today to the Palestinians and the whole world: terrorism pays,” Katz said.

He said that the recognition could impede efforts to return Israel’s hostages being held in Gaza and makes a cease-fire less likely by “rewarding the jihadists of Hamas and Iran.” He also threatened to recall Israel’s ambassador to Spain if the country takes a similar position.

Regarding the Israeli decision to recall its ambassador in Oslo, Gahr Støre said “we will take note of that. This is a government with which we have many disagreements. What we agree on is to condemn Hamas’s cruel attack on Oct. 7.”

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, speaking after Norway’s announcement, welcomed the move and called on other countries to follow.

In a statement carried by the official Wafa news agency, Abbas said Norway’s decision will enshrine “the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination” and support efforts to bring about a two-state solution with Israel.

Some 140 countries have already recognized a Palestinian state — more than two-thirds of United Nations members — but none of the major Western powers has done so. This move could put more pressure continental heavyweights France and Germany to reconsider their position.

The United States and Britain, among others, have backed the idea of an independent Palestinian state existing alongside Israel as a solution to the Middle East’s most intractable conflict. They insist, however, that Palestinian independence should come as part of a negotiated settlement.

The head of the Arab League called the step taken by the three European nations “a courageous step.”

“I salute and thank the three countries for this step that puts them on the right side of history in this conflict,” Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit wrote on the social media platform X.

Turkey also applauded the decision, calling it an important step toward the restoration of the “usurped rights of the Palestinians.”

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also said the move would help “Palestine gain the status it deserves in the international community.”
