    Laxmikant Bansod, Balod. A sensational case of murder of a woman has come to light in the district. The dead body of a woman was found in a sack on the roadside in Titurgahan village of Gurur police station area. There was a stir in the area after the dead body was found. After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, conducted the Panchnama of the woman’s body, got it post-mortem and started investigation.

    According to the information, this incident took place on Saturday night in Titurgahan village of Gurur police station area. Here unknown accused stuffed the body of a woman in a sack, threw it on the roadside and fled away. After getting information about the incident, police reached the spot and started investigation. The deceased woman has been identified as Chhoti Sahu of Ramtara village. It is said that the deceased woman had left her house on Saturday to go to Dhamtari and did not return. The police is investigating this entire matter. The police is claiming to arrest the accused in the case soon.

    Lok Sabha Chunav 2024: In the third and another crucial phase for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, a total of 93 seats are going to the polls. While a total of 94 seats was to go to the polls in the phase 3, voting was not needed for Surat as the BJP candidate got elected unopposed. However, the Betul seat of Madhya Pradesh is going to polls in the third phase after polling was earlier postponed due to death of a candidate. Also, the voting for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat was also postponed to May 26, thus, 93 seats are up for grab in this phase. The 93 seats are spread across 10 states and 1 union territory.

    In the third phase the BJP-led NDA and the INDIA bloc of Congress fiercely attacked each other making muslim reservations, constitution and sexual harassment charges against JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna issues to woo the voters. While the Congress accused the BJP of favouring a sexual abuse offender and trying to change the constituion, the saffron party has slammed the Congress for providing religion-based reservation to Muslims from the quota of SC/ST/OBCs. 

    High-Stakes For BJP

    The stakes are significantly high for the BJP in this phase because the party had in 2019 won majority of these seats including clean sweep in Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, Congress is looking to make a big dent in these seats by promising several freebies and financial aids.

    A total of 25 (out of 26) seats in Gujarat, 11 seats in Maharashtra, 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh, remaining 14 of the 28 in Karnataka, seven in Chhattisgarh, eight in Madhya Pradesh, five in Bihar, four each in Assam and West Bengal, and all two in Goa are going to the polls in Phase 3 on May 7. The Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (2 seats) will also go to polls in the third phase.

    Of the over 1300 candidates, the bigwigs include Union ministers Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, Jyotiraditya Scindia from Guna, Mansukh Mandaviya from Porbandar, Parshottam Rupala from Rajkot, Pralhad Joshi from Dharwad, SP Singh Baghel from Agra, Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Vidisha, Digvijaya Singh from Rajgarh, Basavaraj Bommai from Haveri, Badruddin Ajmal from Dhubri, Akhilesh Yadav from Kannauj, Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri, Ram Gopal Yadav’s son Akshaya Yadav from Firozabad, Aditya Yadav from Budaun, as well as Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar from Baramati.

    Raipur. In the last phase of Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh, voting is to be held on 7 seats including Raipur on 7th May. Due to the elections, Raipur Police has taken swift action and made arrests in accordance with the code of conduct.

    Let us tell you, due to Lok Sabha elections, the code of conduct is in force in the state from March 16. During this period, since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, Raipur Police has served 3997 permanent/arrest warrants, taken restrictive action against 6544 people, seized 4723 liters of illicit liquor and Rs 1 crore 71 lakh in cash, including a total of Rs 2 crore 77 lakh.

    Raipur Police has taken action under Arms Act against 125 accused, out of which sharp knives were seized from the possession of 122 accused and fire arms were seized from the possession of 03 accused. Out of a total of 1,838 arms license holders, 1,549 arms were deposited and the remaining 244 people were given exemption due to their deployment in the security of special institutions.     During the Code of Conduct, the police, while running a special campaign, served 3 thousand 997 permanent/arrest warrants including long pending 3127 permanent warrants and 870 arrest warrants and presented the warrants in the court. Along with this, the accused who were absconding for a long time were also sent to jail.

    Large amount of cash seized

    Capital Police seized a total of Rs 1 crore 71 lakh 55 thousand 780 in cash and handed it over to the committee constituted by the Income Tax Department and Election Commission for further action. In the Excise Act cases, action was taken against the accused by seizing 4,723 liters of liquor worth Rs 19 lakh 50 thousand 620 from those accused of illegally transporting/storing or selling liquor in different police station areas.

    Large quantity of drugs including silver seized

    During the Code of Conduct, Raipur Police took action against the accused in Narcotics Act cases by seizing narcotics worth Rs 50,93,818/-. Apart from this, action was taken by seizing the items kept for illegal distribution including silver worth Rs. 33,01,400/-. In this way, till now the Capital Police has seized Mashrooka worth Rs 2,77,22,793/- from the code of conduct.

    Let us tell you that all types of vehicles and suspicious persons are being continuously checked by 24 Flying Squad teams and 25 SST in the district.

    One user commented, “When BJP Hindus met with Real Hindu.”

    New Delhi: The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), which comes under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, has warned users of multiple vulnerabilities in Google Chrome and GitLab (an open-core company) which could allow an attacker to obtain sensitive information, bypass security restriction and cause denial-of-service (DoS) conditions on the targeted system.

    The affected software includes Chrome versions before 124.0.6367.118/.119 for Mac and Windows and Chrome versions prior to 124.0.6367.118 for Linux. For GitLab, the affected software includes -GitLab Community Edition (CE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) versions before 16.11.1, 16.10.4 and 16.9.6.

    “Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome which could be exploited by a remote attacker to trigger remote code execution and DoS conditions on the targeted system,” said the CERT-In advisory.     According to the cyber agency, these vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome due to the use-after-free flaw in Dawn and Picture in Picture components.

    On the other hand, multiple vulnerabilities such as authentication bypass vulnerability, security restriction bypass, and denial of service exist in GitLab due to improper authentication mechanisms, flaws in handling domain-based restrictions when processing crafted email addresses, path traversal vulnerability and an inefficient regular expression, respectively.

    As mentioned by the cyber agency, an attacker could use “these vulnerabilities by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted website.” The agency suggested users apply appropriate security updates as mentioned by the companies.
