  • Afghanistan Stuns Cricket World By Qualifying For T20 World Cup 2024 Semi-Finals After Defeating Bangladesh, Australia Knocked Out | Cricket News

T20 World Cup 2024: Afghanistan has stunned cricket experts by reaching the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating Bangladesh by 8 runs (DLS) in their Super 8 match on Tuesday, June 25, at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St.Vincent. This victory knocked Australia, the 2021 champions, out of the tournament following their losses to India and Afghanistan. Despite rain interruptions in the second innings, Afghanistan kept their cool.

Finishing second in the table with 4 points and a net run rate of -0.267, Afghanistan secured two wins from three games. After a heavy 47-run loss to India, Rashid Khan’s team made a strong comeback. They will now play against Aiden Markram’s South Africa in the first semi-final on June 27 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.

Afghanistan chose to bat first but struggled, posting 115 for 5 in 20 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran added 59 runs for the first wicket but couldn’t accelerate. Rishad Hossain dismissed Ibrahim, who scored a slow 18 from 29 balls. Gurbaz managed 43 runs with a strike rate of 78.18.

The middle-order batsmen, including Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib, and Karim Janat, also struggled. Skipper Rashid Khan’s unbeaten 19 off 10 balls, including three sixes, gave the innings some late momentum.

Bangladesh’s chase was interrupted by rain, but with their score at 31 for 3 in 3.3 overs, they had a challenging target. Soumya Sarkar and Towhid Hridoy scored 10 and 14 runs respectively before falling to Rashid Khan. Despite Litton Das’s fighting 54 not out from 49 balls, Bangladesh fell short, being bowled out for 105 in 17.5 overs, chasing a revised target of 114 in 19 overs.

    Naveen-ul-Haq Gets Emotional

Afghanistan’s pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, named Player of the Match, expressed his emotions, saying, “We have worked so hard over the past few years and we were dreaming and working for this day. I’m lost for words. (On his spell) We always knew that they were going hard in the powerplay to chase the total down in 12.1 overs so we knew we were in the game as long as we kept picking wickets. We had confidence that these wickets are not high-scoring wickets. As long as we don’t give easy runs we knew we would have a chance.”

Afghanistan vs South Africa T20 WC 2024

Group 2 winners South Africa will play against Afghanistan in the first semi-final, while Group 1 leaders India will face England in the second semi-final. South Africa vs. Afghanistan match will start at 8:30 PM local time on Wednesday, June 26, at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. The India vs. The England match will be at 10:30 AM local time on Thursday, June 27, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

  • Rajasthan Energy Minister HL Nagar inaugurated 9 MW solar project, said- RVUNL is committed to the development of Surguja

Raipur. Rajasthan Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar visited Parsa East Kete Basan block of Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) in Surguja to assess community-centric initiatives and project development works. He expressed his government’s commitment to the development of Surguja district on behalf of RVUNL.

Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar said, “The immense success of the PEKB block is the result of a fruitful partnership between Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. We are proud of RVUNL’s contribution to the development of Surguja district. The Rajasthan government is dedicated to strengthening its bond with the local communities and contributing even more to their empowerment in the future.”

RVUNL’s PEKB block is one of the largest employers in the organised sector in Surguja, providing nearly 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. It has played a key role in preventing local workers from migrating to other districts such as Korba, Bilaspur and Raigarh, where the mining sector has contributed significantly to employment generation and local economic development. RVUNL, through its mine developer and operator contractor Adani Enterprises Ltd, has undertaken various initiatives in education, empowerment, health, sanitation, strengthening rural infrastructure and agriculture. The Adani Vidya Mandir supported by RVUNL provides free education to nearly 900 local students. Notably, it is possibly the only school in India where a cooperative society of mothers of the students is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious breakfast and mid-day meals.

Minister Nagar also launched dozer push operation and inaugurated a nine megawatt solar project to use renewable energy for RVUNL’s operations in PEKB block. He also visited the forest where RVUNL has planted 11.5 lakh trees with the help of locals on land reclaimed after coal mining in the last decade. He also discussed the status of the ongoing drive to plant additional 2.5 lakh trees during the current financial year. It is noteworthy that we have set a record in developing nurseries for Sal trees.

As a symbol of his commitment, Energy Minister Nagar announced plans to set up a 25-bed modern hospital near PEKB Block to provide modern healthcare services to the local communities dependent on Ambikapur.

It is worth noting that due to the closure of PEKB block during the last few months, the Rajasthan government was forced to buy coal by paying 40 percent more price and this had an adverse effect on Rajasthan’s budget. On Saturday, Energy Minister Nagar also expressed his government’s commitment to the development of Surguja district during his meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai in Raipur.

Energy Minister Nagar expressed happiness over the performance of Chhattisgarh’s only five-star rated PEKB coal mine for the last four consecutive years. He said, “By continuously running a large-scale afforestation project on the land reclaimed after coal mining and successfully accepting the challenge of sal regeneration, RVUNL has set new standards in the Indian mining industry. We are committed to replicate the same success in our two other coal blocks, Parsa and Kete Extension, located in the neighbourhood of PEKB block. Currently, we are able to get only nine to ten railway racks of coal, while the requirement is 20 to 22 rakes.” He said, “I am confident that with the support of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, RVUNL will be able to expand its operations in the interest of Surguja and Rajasthan, which will reduce our dependence on coal imports as well as Coal India.

Lok Sabha Speaker Election: Kota MP Om Birla, who previously served as Lok Sabha Speaker of the previous House, submitted his nomination as an NDA candidate on Tuesday. Birla’s name was unanimously agreed upon by all NDA parties, and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh also sought the opposition’s support. The INDIA bloc fielded Congress leader K Suresh as its candidate for the Speaker’s position against Om Birla, accusing the ruling NDA of failing to follow convention in handing over the Dy speaker position to the opposition.

Congress leader K C Venugopal and DMK’s T R Baalu walked out of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s office, refusing to endorse NDA candidate Birla unless they were offered the position of Deputy Speaker. Venugopal stated that the BJP refused to commit to offering the Deputy Speaker position to the opposition.

Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Lalan Singh accused the Congress of imposing conditions, adding that the ruling alliance was willing to discuss their demand when the election for Deputy Speaker took place.

According to sources, over ten sets of nominations were filed in support of Birla’s candidature, including those from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Shah, Singh, and Nadda, as well as BJP allies such as the TDP, JD(U), JD(S), and LJP(R).

Three nominations were submitted in support of Suresh, a Dalit leader and eight-term MP.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had clarified on Tuesday that the INDIA bloc will only support the government’s nomination if the opposition is given the deputy speaker’s position. He also said that Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh had yet to respond to the opposition’s request for the post of deputy speaker. Gandhi also accused the BJP of insulting Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

While speaking to reporters outside the Parliament house, Gandhi said, “Today it is written in the newspaper that PM Modi has said that the Opposition should cooperate with the Govt constructively. Rajnath Singh called Mallikarjun Kharge and he asked him to extend support to the Speaker. The entire Opposition said that we would support the Speaker but the convention is that the Deputy Speaker post should be given to the opposition.”

  • Lok Sabha Speaker Election: For the first time in the history of the country, elections will be held for the Speaker, no consensus reached between NDA and India Alliance, Congress fielded K Suresh against Om Birla

Lok Sabha Speaker Election: The government and the opposition (NDA and India Alliance) could not reach a consensus on the name of the speaker. Due to this, after NDA, India has also fielded its candidate for the post of speaker. The opposition has made K Suresh India’s candidate for the post of speaker. At the same time, BJP has once again made Om Birla its candidate for this post. NDA candidate Om Birla has filed his nomination for the post of speaker. K Suresh has also filed his nomination. Now on June 26, the speaker of the Lok Sabha will be decided through elections. For the first time in the history of the country, the speaker will be decided through elections.

He kissed my lips, removed my clothes and held my private parts…?

Let us tell you that earlier there was news that an agreement has been reached between NDA and INDIA Block. NDA’s candidate will be the Lok Sabha Speaker. The opposition will not field its candidate for the post of Speaker. Sources said that if there is an agreement with the opposition parties on the name of the Speaker, then the post of Deputy Speaker can be given to the opposition. Rahul Gandhi himself came to the media and said that there will be no candidate against the Speaker.

Tejashwi Yadav: Tejashwi Yadav remembered PM Modi early in the morning, wrote on his x-‘Jungle Raj ke jungal ki jaal ke liye…’

    Deputy speaker spoiled the game

Sources have revealed that there was no consensus between NDA and INDIA Alliance on the post of Deputy Speaker. NDA wants to keep the post of Deputy Speaker with itself. Whereas INDIA Alliance was demanding to give it to the opposition. Whereas BJP wants to keep the post of Lok Sabha Speaker with itself and give it to its constituent party TDP or JDU. Hence, due to lack of consensus on this, INDIA Alliance has fielded its candidate.

‘Emergency’…. you must have heard the name? That dark night of 25 June 1975 when Indira Gandhi’s decision strangled democracy, even the right to live was snatched away

What is the number game in Lok Sabha?

If we talk about the numbers game of Lok Sabha, this time the picture is different as compared to 2014 and 2019. BJP, which is leading the NDA, is the largest party with 240 seats, but after two elections, the party fell short of the magic figure of 272 required for an absolute majority. The strength of NDA in Lok Sabha is 293. On the other hand, if we talk about the opposition, Congress had won 99 seats, but Rahul Gandhi had won from two seats, so the number of MPs was 98. Rahul has left the Wayanad seat. In such a situation, the party’s seats have also become 98 now. The Congress-led India Block has 233 MPs. 16 others, including seven independents, have also reached Parliament by winning the elections.

270 MPs will take oath today On the second day of the Lok Sabha session, 270 MPs will take oath. On the first day, Monday (24 June), 280 MPs took oath. Prime Minister Modi was the first to take oath and lastly, Dnyaneshwar Patil of Madhya Pradesh. The first session of the Lok Sabha on Monday got off to a very tumultuous start. Before and after the start of the session, the opposition MPs protested against the government outside the Parliament with copies of the constitution in their hands. The opposition alleges that the government ignored the rules in the appointment of the pro tem speaker.

No Jai Shri Ram slogans were raised on PM’s entry in Lok Sabha, how much did the scene in Parliament change this time

There is no rule to give the post of Deputy Speaker to the opposition

People in the Modi government say that there is no rule of giving the post of Deputy Speaker to the opposition. This is a tradition, which the Congress has started breaking. In the second Lok Sabha, during the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru government, this responsibility was given to Hukam Singh of the Congress itself. During coalition governments, many times the parties leading the government have given the post of Speaker to an ally and kept the post of Deputy Speaker with themselves.

    Speakers elected unanimously so far

From Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar, who was elected Speaker of the first Lok Sabha after independence, to Om Birla, who was the Speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha, all have been elected unanimously. The post of Speaker in the Lok Sabha has also been given to those MPs who were not from the ruling party earlier. The 12th Lok Sabha was presided over by Balayogi of TDP while Atal Bihari Vajpayee of BJP was the Prime Minister at that time. Balayogi was also elected as the Speaker of the 13th Lok Sabha. But while holding this post, he died in a helicopter crash, after which Shiv Sena MP Manohar Joshi was the Speaker of the 13th Lok Sabha.

  • WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Walks Free From Proson As He Reaches Plea Deal With US |

In an agreement that would end his in imprisonment in Britain and enable him to return to Australia, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is scheduled to enter a guilty plea this week to violating US espionage law. This will put an end to a long legal court battle for Assange. According to records filed in the US District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands, Assange, 52, has agreed to enter a guilty plea to a single criminal count of conspiring to obtain and publish sensitive US national defense materials.

Many believed that he acted as a journalist to expose wrongdoing by the United States military. Investigators, on the other hand, have repeatedly stated that his actions violated laws designed to protect sensitive information and jeopardised the country’s national security.

The agreement ensures that Assange will admit guilt while also sparing him from further prison time. He had spent years hiding out in the Ecuadorian embassy in London after Swedish authorities wanted to arrest him on rape charges before being imprisoned in the United Kingdom.

Prosecutors have agreed to a sentence equal to the five years Assange has already spent in a high-security British prison fighting extradition to the United States to face charges, a process that has taken place over several hearings in London.

He is expected to return to Australia after his plea and sentencing, which is scheduled for Wednesday morning, local time in Saipan, the largest island in the Mariana Islands. The hearing is taking place there because of Assange’s opposition to traveling to the continental US and the court’s proximity to Australia.

Who Is Julia Assange? Timeline Of Wikileaks Case

Assange has been heralded by many around the world as a hero who brought to light military wrongdoing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among the files published by WikiLeaks was a video of a 2007 Apache helicopter attack by American forces in Baghdad that killed 11 people, including two Reuters journalists. But his reputation was also tarnished by rape allegations, which he has denied.

In 2010, Wikileaks published hundreds of thousands of classified US military documents on Washington’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the greatest security breach in US military history, as well as swaths of diplomatic cables.

During former President Donald Trump’s administration, Assange was indicted for WikiLeaks’ mass publication of classified US papers hacked by Chelsea Manning, a former US military intelligence analyst who was also tried under the Espionage Act.

The collection of over 700,000 papers included diplomatic cables and battlefield testimonies, such as a 2007 video of a US Apache helicopter firing on suspected insurgents in Iraq, killing a dozen people, including two Reuters reporters. : That video was published in 2010.

Many of Assange’s admirers around the world, who have long maintained that Assange, as the publisher of Wikileaks, shouldn’t be charged with crimes usually reserved for federal government employees who steal or leak information, were outraged by the charges brought against him.

A lot of people who support press freedom have claimed that putting Assange under criminal prosecution would endanger free speech.
