  • In A First For Country, Nita Ambani Inaugurates India House At Paris Olympics |

    PARIS: Fresh off the year’s most extravagant wedding, Nita Ambani inaugurated the India House for the Paris Olympics on Saturday. 

    The first of its kind at an Olympic Games for India, the temporary house is meant to promote Indian culture as the country aspires to host the 2036 Games. The endeavor was born from the partnership between the Indian Olympic Association and the Reliance Foundation, which Ambani founded and chairs. 

    “Today we gather here at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 to open the doors to a dream. A dream that belongs to 1.4 billion Indians. A dream to bring India to the Olympics and our shared dream to bring the Olympics to India,” Ambani, an International Olympic Committee member, said in her address. 

    India House is one of several hospitality houses that spring up around the Games, affiliated with participating countries or brands. This is a smattering of what’s on offer from Saturday through Aug. 11, the day of the closing ceremony: 

    — Tributes to Indian architecture and artistic motifs (think tigers and peacocks) 

    — Virtual reality tourism 

    — Cricket matches 

    — Workshops on block printing 

    — Henna tattooing and Bollywood dance 

    — A lounge for athletes 

    — Food, of course, which ranges from biryani and mutton curry to curd rice and several desserts. 

    “It’s beautiful, it’s colorful. It’s smiles, it’s joy, it’s happiness. It’s India,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said at the event. “It’s what we all love, the entire world. The world is here today. And India House unites the world.” 

    Infantino was there to encourage the development of soccer in India, whose men’s team ranks 124th and women’s team 67th in their respective FIFA standings. 

    “In India, football is fantastic,” he said. “Together, we make it grow even more. And, I’m here for that. So to all Indians: Watch us, football is coming seriously now in India.” 

    India has sent 112 athletes in 16 sports to the Olympics. 

    In addition to daily activities, India House will have performances, including an opening night concert from famed Bollywood playback singer Shaan. Sunday is “Bollywood Day” but will feature an hourlong session with ex-cricketer and coach Rahul Dravid on the future of cricket at the Olympics. 

    Men’s and women’s cricket, played in the Twenty20 format, will be added at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. 

    Ambani was accompanied by her husband, Mukesh Ambani, the billionaire industrialist who is Asia’s richest man. It’s been a busy month for the couple: Their youngest son, Anant Ambani, was married just two weeks ago in an elaborate, global celebrity-filled affair that many have dubbed the wedding of the year. 

  • Israel PM Netanyahu Warns Hezbollah Will ‘Pay Heavy Price’ After Golan Heights Attack Kills 11 | world news

    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a warning to Hezbollah, stating that they will ‘pay a heavy price’ for the rocket attack on Saturday that resulted in the deaths of 11 young people in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights region, reported AP.

    According to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu told a local community leader, “Israel will not let this murderous attack go unanswered, and Hezbollah will face a heavy price for it, a price it has never paid before.”

    Israeli authorities reported that a rocket strike on Saturday at a soccer field resulted in the deaths of at least 11 children and teenagers. This incident marks the deadliest attack on an Israeli target along the northern border since the conflict with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

    Israel accused Hezbollah of carrying out the strike in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights, however Hezbollah quickly denied any involvement.

    Netanyahu’s office announced that he would cut short his visit to the United States by several hours, though it did not specify his return time. Upon his arrival, he plans to convene the security cabinet, reported AP.

    The White House National Security Council in a statement cited by AP said the US “will continue to support efforts to end these terrible attacks along the Blue Line, which must be a top priority. Our support for Israel’s security is iron-clad and unwavering against all Iranian-backed terrorist groups, including Lebanese Hezbollah.”

    Paris Olympics 2024: In the shooting events, India faced disappointment in the men’s and mixed team events, but Manu Bhaker raised hopes of a medal by reaching the final.

    Paris: India’s Manu Bhaker has made it to the final of the women’s 10 meter air pistol event on Saturday. She finished third in the qualification round with an impressive score of 580-27x. Among 45 shooters, Bhaker performed strongly from the beginning and scored consistently well.

    In the first 10 shots, she shot 97/100 with seven inner tens. The 22-year-old Indian shooter repeated her performance in the second series as well and shot 97. At the midpoint of the six-series event, Manu had a score of 292/300, putting her in a good position to finish in the top eight to qualify for the final.

    Heart was broken in Tokyo, now she is close to the medal

    Three years after the heartbreaking Tokyo Olympics performance, Bhaker has made a stunning comeback by making it to the finals at the Paris Olympics. It is a significant comeback for the young shooter, who had considered quitting the sport some time back. Bhaker’s journey to the final was quite impressive.

    She showcased her skill and determination in the qualification round, culminating in a stellar performance. Her sixth and final series ended with a solid score of 96, taking her overall score to 580-27x. This score was achieved through consistent performances, with Bhaker scoring 97, 97, 98, 96 and 96 in her previous rounds.

    Rhythm Sangwan got disappointed

    On the other hand, another talented shooter Rhythm Sangwan finished her campaign with a score of 573-14x and was placed 15th in the overall rankings. Despite missing out on a place in the final, Sangwan’s effort was commendable, showcasing her ability and determination.

    Now shooting medal is expected from Bhaker only

    The day started with some disappointment for the Indian contingent, but Bhaker’s brilliant performance provided the necessary impetus and raised hopes of a medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event. Bhaker’s qualification for the final has increased the excitement and thrill as fans eagerly await her next performance.

    There was disappointment in the men’s event as well

    Earlier, Sarabjeet Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema showed promise but failed to make the men’s 10m air pistol final. Sarabjeet finished ninth in the qualification with a score of 577, while Arjun finished 18th with 574.

    Indian shooters also fell short in the 10m air rifle mixed team qualification. Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta finished sixth with a total score of 628.7, while Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh finished 12th with 626.3. Ramita and Babuta came close to the medal round but eventually missed out by 1.0 points.

    Addressing the huge crowd present for the discourse, Munishri said that religion should begin from one’s own home instead of any temple, mosque, gurudwara or religious place. Rather than thinking about heaven or hell ahead, a house where there is harmony, intimacy, friendly behavior among family members like brothers, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and sister-in-law etc. is like heaven. A house where there is distance, conflict, and estrangement is like hell. A happy family is the basis of a happy life.

    Munishri said that during the time of Rama, dignity was needed, during the time of Mahavira, non-violence was needed, but at present, love is needed. Love should become religion, scriptures, the basis of life. The house where there is love and affection, wealth and fame reside there. That house becomes the abode of salvation like the house of Bharat Chakravarti.

    While enunciating the five-sutra principle for turning a home into a temple, Muni Shri said that family members should participate in each other’s work, be helpful, extend a helping hand, share the work. They should find their own happiness in each other’s happiness. In the second sutra he said that if family members stay united and respect each other then no one else can do any harm to them. Assimilating the saying ‘What is yours, what is mine, this world is for everyone’s sake’, in the third sutra he inspired people to be ready for sacrifice. In the fourth sutra he told that where there is wealth, there is property. Before draping a chunari on mother in the temple, before offering food to God, one should respect one’s parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers and sisters. By living with love, cooperation, by living with wealth, Lakshmi resides.

    While providing special food with the fifth and most important sutra, Muni Shri said that cleanliness is the step to the temple. The house in which junk and rubbish are lying on the roof or basement causes the biggest Vaastu defect. It causes unrest. From the point of view of non-violence, it causes the birth of living beings.

    Muni Nareshkumar said that religion should be considered as the most important thing in life, religion should be given more importance than wealth, religion is the life force of life. Terapanth Parishad President Virendra Daga said that around 17 brothers and sisters are doing penance of eight and above.   • RPF IG gave instructions to catch illegal vendors… RPF misunderstood in Durg? Lalluram gave information… action started again, where did Sr DCM’s team disappear?

    Prateek Chauhan. Raipur/Durg. The IG of South East Central Railway Zone issued a letter on July 26 (Order No. 1862) and directed to take action against illegal vendors from July 28. But just a day after the issuance of this order and just a day before the start of the special drive, Lalluram’s team reached Durg Railway Station to know the condition of illegal vendors at Durg Railway Station. After reaching here, we were stunned to see that illegal vendors were seen doing illegal vending fearlessly inside the trains right in front of the RPF post (RPF POST DURG). After the whole act was captured on Lalluram’s camera, we informed the senior officials of RPF, after which the responsible persons of Durg RPF post reluctantly tried to catch the illegal vendors and many vendors were seen leaving their goods and running away in front of the RPF. After Lalluram’s information, Durg RPF has confirmed action against 11 illegal vendors.

    IG had reached Durg a few days ago, still there is no fear
