  • What is SpaceX’s Crew Dragon? Learn about the spacecraft bringing Sunita Williams back to Earth | world news

Last week, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, who have been stationed at the International Space Station (ISS), will return to Earth in February 2025 aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon flight.

Williams and Wilmore arrived at the ISS aboard Boeing’s Starliner in June, with plans to return within a week. However, technical issues prevented the spacecraft from beginning its return trip to Earth. NASA has now decided that Starliner will return without a crew to avoid exposing the astronauts to unnecessary risks.

NASA and SpaceX are currently addressing several tasks in preparation for the Crew Dragon launch. This includes reconfiguring the seats and modifying the manifest to accommodate additional cargo. Here’s an overview of Crew Dragon and its features.

    What is Crew Dragon?

Crew Dragon is one of two versions of SpaceX’s Dragon 2 spacecraft, which is partially reusable. The other version is Cargo Dragon. As the names imply, Crew Dragon is mainly used to transport astronauts to the ISS, while Cargo Dragon is responsible for delivering supplies to the space station.

SpaceX designed Crew Dragon as part of NASA’s strategy to transfer space station missions to American companies following the retirement of its space shuttle in 2011. Crew Dragon’s inaugural mission to the ISS occurred in 2020, carrying four American and Japanese astronauts. Since then, the spacecraft has completed eight crew rotation missions to the space station for NASA.

What are the features of Crew Dragon?

Crew Dragon is composed of two components: a reusable space capsule and an expandable trunk module.

According to reports, the capsule is fitted with 16 Draco thrusters that allow it to maneuver in orbit, with each thruster generating 90 pounds of force in the vacuum of space. The report also mentioned that the trunk includes solar panels, heat-removal radiators, cargo space, and fins that provide stability during emergency aborts.

The spacecraft is launched into space using a Falcon 9, which is a reusable, two-stage rocket developed by SpaceX, and it automatically docks with the ISS.

PAK vs BAN 2nd Test: After the crushing defeat in the first Test against Bangladesh, Pakistan will be eyeing to win the second Test and end the series on a draw. The second and final Test match of the series will be played in Rawalpindi from tomorrow i.e. 30 August. Just before this match, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the playing 12. One of these players will be out and the rest of the team will be seen playing the match. The special thing in this announcement of Pakistan is that the name of Pakistan’s fierce bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is not among these 12 players.

Let us tell you that in the first match of the series played from 21 to 25 August, Pakistan had to face defeat from Bangladesh. This is the first time that Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan in a Test. What is even more important is that Pakistan has faced defeat in a Test by 10 wickets at home for the first time. Pakistan had called Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam a day earlier, who could not play the first Test. Now Abrar’s name is there in these 12 announced players, but Kamran’s name is missing.

Pakistan’s 12 players for the second test against Bangladesh

Shaheen had left the team due to the birth of a child

It is worth noting that Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife Ansha became parents of their first child on Saturday, August 24. Due to which Shaheen left the team after playing the first Test. However, on August 28, news came that Shaheen Shah Afridi has joined his team again, after which there was a possibility that he would be seen playing, but now everyone is shocked to not see his name.

Shaheen has captained the Pakistani team

Shaheen Shah Afridi is a match winner, he has proved this many times. After the ODI World Cup 2023, he was made the captain by removing Babar Azam, but after that when he too could not win the match, Shaheen was made the captain again. Meanwhile, after losing the first Test match, there were also talks of controversy in the Pakistani team. A video also went viral, in which Test captain Shan Masood is talking with his hand on Shaheen’s shoulder, but suddenly Shaheen removes his hand from his shoulder.

  • Men will become extinct from the earth! Research on Y chromosome created a sensation, after so many years only girls will be born- Y Chromosome

Decline of the Y Chromosome: The existence of boys on earth is in danger. In the coming times, men will become extinct from the earth. This is not us saying this but it has come to light in a recent research. Research has revealed that there has been a significant decrease in the Y Chromosome, which helps in the birth of boys. This has affected the human reproductive system a lot. According to a recent research, the extinction of the Y chromosome has come to light. The Y chromosome plays an important role in determining the gender of a man. If this research is to be believed, then in the future more girls will be born because the Y chromosome has reached the verge of extinction. If this continues, then in the coming years, the Y chromosome may completely disappear in the next 11 million years.

India-China: China bows down to India! Said such a thing about LAC that Modi government got very happy

Let us tell you that mammals, that is, those who feed their children milk, i.e. women or female animals have 2 X chromosomes. Whereas males have one X and one Y chromosome. When there is a fusion between the egg and sperm, then the SRY gene is formed. After this, the embryo is male.

Indian Navy’s strength increased, Nuclear Submarine ‘INS Arighat’ joined the fleet, know what is special…

The SRY gene becomes active after about 12 weeks of pregnancy. By looking at it, we can find out whether the baby growing in the fetus is a male or a female. The child who produces the male hormone testosterone is born as a male.

Genetics expert Professor Jenny Graves said the reduction in size of the Y chromosome is not a new phenomenon. She explains that in the platypus, the XY chromosome pair looks like a normal chromosome with equal members. This suggests that the mammalian X and Y were a normal pair of chromosomes until very early on, Graves said. In two rodent lineages – the mole vole of eastern Europe and the spiny rat of Japan – the Y chromosome had already been lost. In these species, both males and females retain the X chromosome, but the Y chromosome and the SRY gene have disappeared.

Himachal Pradesh in crisis, Sukhu cabinet will not take salary for two months to deal with the financial crisis…

New sex-determining gene Professor Graves believes that there is a possibility of a new sex-determining gene developing in humans. However, this is not easy. The development of a new sex-determining gene can also pose many dangers. It is also possible that different types of sex-determining genes can develop in different parts of the world. If this happens, then after 110 million years, either there will be no humans left on earth or many different types of humans will be found.

Professor Jenny Graves, an expert in genetics.

Congress leader filed FIR against Kangana Ranaut, for giving controversial statement on Rahul Gandhi

The SRY gene was discovered in 1990

The SRY gene was discovered in 1990. During this time it was found that it activates SOX9, which triggers the development of male gender in any mammals. That is, if this gene is present then the child growing in the womb is male. Why is the Y chromosome disappearing? In the 166 million years since humans and platypus separated, the Y chromosome has lost a significant number of active genes, which has decreased from 900 to only 55. This is a loss of about five genes every million years. If this continues, then in the coming years the Y chromosome may disappear completely in the next 11 million years.

‘Don’t be confused’, Smriti Irani warns BJP about Rahul Gandhi’s political change…

The X chromosome has 900 genes while the Y has about 55 genes

The X chromosome contains about 900 genes with multiple functions, while the Y contains about 55 genes. Only 27 of these are male-specific. Most of the Y is made up of repetitive ‘junk DNA’. With such an unstable structure, the Y chromosome is at risk of disappearing completely over the course of several generations, according to a report in The Week.

  • Three Pakistan Hockey Players Slapped With Lifetime Ban For Seeking Asylum In European Country | Other

Three Pakistan hockey players and a physiotherapist have been banned for life for attempting to seek asylum in a European country after slipping away without the knowledge of the Pakistan Hockey Federation. PHF secretary-general Rana Mujahid confirmed on Thursday that Murtaza Yaqoob, Ihtesham Aslam and Abdur Rahman, along with physiotherapist Waqas, had gone to the Netherlands and Poland last month for the Nations Cup.

“When the team returned home and we announced a training camp for the Asian Champions Trophy, the three informed us that due to domestic issues they wouldn’t be able to attend the camp,” Mujahid said.

“Later we came to know that they had flown out to Holland once again on the same Schengen visas issued to the team and sought political asylum there,” he added.

Mujahid said it was a “disappointing” episode for Pakistan hockey, which would make it difficult to apply for visas to European countries for international competitions.

He said that the PHF Congress had approved the lifetime ban and asked the PHF president to make efforts through the Pakistan consulate to bring them back for disciplinary action.

“We have already notified the interior and foreign ministries for further action,” he added.

The former Olympian acknowledged that while the PHF’s financial situation was challenging and that players had faced delays in their travel allowances and daily subsistence payments, these issues did not justify abandoning the national team and bringing disrepute to the country.
