  • Major action by EOW in Jharkhand liquor scam case, crime registered against seven people from Chhattisgarh

Shivam Mishra, Raipur. The Economic Offenses Investigation Bureau (EOW) has registered an offense under sections of cheating and criminal conspiracy against seven people including Anwar Dhebar, AP Tripathi, Anil Tuteja, Arvind Singh in the alleged liquor scam in Jharkhand. It also includes the names of two excise officers of Jharkhand. All these accused are currently in jail in the liquor scam worth crores in Chhattisgarh.

According to the FIR registered in EOW, changes have been made in the tender of Jharkhand’s liquor policy in December 2022. Its meeting was held at Anwar Dhebar’s hideout in Raipur. During this, excise officers of Jharkhand including AP Tripathi, Anil Tuteja, Arvind Singh were present. The reason for changing the policy is said to be to benefit Sumit’s company. The government has suffered a loss of crores of rupees due to this. The same company was also doing liquor contract work in Chhattisgarh.

    Case of fake hologram also

During the Chhattisgarh Congress government, liquor was supplied in the entire state by installing fake holograms. Similarly, there has been talk of liquor supply in Jharkhand. It is alleged that the hologram has been continuously selling liquor. This is not even accounted for.

Security fund of Rs 11 crore was fixed

By changing the policy, a security fund of Rs 11 crore was fixed to benefit a company. Apart from this, there was a requirement of an employee. A turnover of Rs 200 crore in six months was also in the condition. A non-refundable amount of Rs 25 lakh was fixed for participating in the tender for wholesale sale of liquor.

Preparation for big liquor scam: Babulal Marandi

Let us tell you that Jharkhand BJP State President Babulal Marandi had created a sensation in the corridors of power by giving a statement on the liquor scam. He wrote on social media Last time the liquor mafia of Chhattisgarh was involved in this. This time a plan is being made to bring liquor mafia from Punjab and Haryana. The script of this scam is also being written from Birsa Munda jail.

    Preparation for big liquor scam

Babulal has further written that Hemant Soren, notorious for scams, theft and fraud, is preparing to commit a big liquor scam once again after leaving the government. Earlier also I had expressed concern about possible liquor scams in Jharkhand and warned the Chief Minister about this, but he completely disregarded ethics and adopted the path of manipulation. He has also attached the letter written to the CM in his post.

    — Babulal Marandi (@yourBabulal) September 25, 2024

    want to raise black money

Babulal has said that Hemant Soren, forced by his habit of earning more and more money, wants to raise black money for the elections by changing the liquor policy for the third time in a row. This time the main objective of the scam is to raise huge funds for the elections and distribute liquor in every village at the time of elections. The government, which has two months left in its tenure, wants to recover huge black money by indirectly handing over the contract of liquor shops to the people of Punjab and Haryana for the next three years.

Also mentioned the letter written to CM

On September 1, he had written a letter to the Chief Minister suggesting that the poor tribal women of the village, who sell liquor, should be included through government liquor distribution, but the Chief Minister is forced by his habit. It is rightly said that a thief should go by theft and not by cheating. I also assure the people of Jharkhand that this proposed liquor policy will be canceled when the BJP government comes to power. Strict action will be taken against the liquor mafia from Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Haryana and the officials involved in the scam.

  • Spam Menace: 3K Registered Senders Whitelist Over 70K Links As Per Centre’s Directive |

New Delhi: More than 3,000 registered senders have whitelisted more than 70,000 URLs, APKs (Android package kit) or OTT (over the top) links as per the government directive to safeguard consumers from unsolicited messages containing malicious links, it was announced on Thursday.

In a major step to curb the misuse of URLs (uniform resource locators) in messages, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had issued a directive on August 20, and then extended it till September 30.

The new rule, instructing all access providers to block any traffic containing URLs, APKs, or OTT links that have not been whitelisted, is set to be implemented by 1st October 2024.

To ensure smooth flow of SMS traffic containing URLs, TRAI advises registered senders to promptly upload their whitelisted URL/APK/OTT links to the portal of the respective Access Providers.

“So far, over 3,000 registered senders have complied with this requirement by whitelisting more than 70,000 links. Senders who fail to whitelist their links by the due date will not be able to transmit any messages containing URL/APK/OTT links,” said the Ministry of Communications.

This initiative is designed to foster a transparent and secure communication system.

“By complying with these new rules, both Access Providers and registered senders can help in creating a more reliable and safe messaging environment,” said the telecom regulator.

Whitelisting is a cybersecurity strategy under which only pre-approved or trusted users, entities, or actions are allowed to operate on a system or network. By preventing unauthorised access, whitelisting can greatly reduce the risk of malware infection and cyber intrusion.

Telecom service providers blocked over 50 entities and disconnected more than 2.75 lakh mobile numbers and telecom resources earlier this month.

The TRAI has also introduced punitive measures for non-compliance. Content templates registered under the wrong category will be blacklisted, and repeated offenses will lead to a one-month suspension of the sender’s services.

  • Rani Lakshmibai’s Statue To Be Relocated To Delhi’s Eidgah Park Amid Protest |

A heavy police force has been deployed around the Delhi’s Eidgah Park as the work to relocate the statue of Rani Lakshmibai from the Rani Jhansi roundabout to the park commenced yesterday. The police force has been deployed following strong opposition from the local Muslim community. In light of the protests, the installation process began under heavy security, with police and paramilitary forces deployed on-site.

Despite some ongoing protests, the police ensured that the work proceeded without disruption, with continuous monitoring by municipal officials, said reports. The High Court has not provided any relief to the protestors.

As part of a larger initiative to make the stretch from Tis Hazari Court to Panchkuian Road signal-free, the municipal corporation built a flyover in 2018 over a 1.5 km stretch. This plan, approved by UTTIPEC in 2019 and passed by the municipal body in 2020, includes the removal of two major traffic signals at Eidgah and the Rani Jhansi roundabout.

A boundary wall is being constructed in the DDA park, and a triangular platform is being built to house the relocated statue.

  • Retired Saudi Teacher Jailed For 30-Yrs For Criticizing Govt On Social Media | world news

A court in Saudi Arabia sentenced a retired teacher to 30 years’ jail for criticizing the government on social media, his brother said on Tuesday. This comes less than two months after his death sentence was overturned. The former teacher was identified as Mohammed al-Ghamdi. His death sentence highlighted what critics describe as heightened repression under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Gulf kingdom’s de facto ruler.

In an interview to Fox News that aired in September 2023, Prince Mohammed addressed the case, saying the government was “ashamed” over it and expressing hope the outcome could be changed.

Ghamdi’s death sentence was overturned on appeal in August. But the appeals court sentenced him to 30 years imprisonment on the same charges, his brother Saeed al-Ghamdi, an Islamic scholar who lives in Britain, told AFP.

In July 2023, Mohammed al-Ghamdi had been sentenced to death by the Specialized Criminal Court, which was set up in 2008 to deal with terrorism-related cases. The former teacher, who is in his 50s, was arrested in June 2022.

The case against him was at least partly built on posts criticizing the government and expressing support for “prisoners of conscience” like the jailed religious clerics Salman al-Awda and Awad al-Qarni, his brother has previously said, according to AFP.

After the legal troubles came to light last year, the Gulf Center for Human Rights said his account on social media platform

The charges he faced included conspiracy against the Saudi leadership, undermining state institutions, and supporting terrorist ideology, sources briefed AFP on the details said at the time.

“This about-face in judgments testifies to the dramatic state of the kingdom’s politicised judicial system,” Saeed al-Ghamdi said on X. “My brother is not guilty to be arrested and tried in this way,” he further stated.

The Saudi authorities, however, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Last month, Human Rights Watch and Saeed al-Ghamdi reported that another brother, 47-year-old Asaad al-Ghamdi, had been sentenced to 20 years over critical social media posts.

There was no word on Tuesday on whether judges would also review Asaad al-Ghamdi’s sentence.

New Delhi: Scammers impersonating famous celebrities are nothing new. In a shocking case, Spanish police have arrested five individuals for defrauding two women out of €325,000 (over Rs 3 crore) by pretending to be Hollywood star Brad Pitt. The scammers initially connected with the women through a Brad Pitt fan page. They built a fake sense of trust and used emotional manipulation to execute their scheme.
