    Ashutosh Tiwari, Jagdalpur. The issue of garbage dumping by the Municipal Corporation in the wards of the city is increasing. On Sunday, the councilor and residents of Ganganagar ward demonstrated by dumping garbage on Geedam Road. Today, after months of protest in Chhatrapati and Maharana Pratap Dev wards, the residents blocked the National Highway in front of the Forest Department over dumping of garbage in the ward. This jam lasted for about an hour, due to which traffic was completely disrupted. Seeing the situation of the jam, the district administration sent the Tehsildar to the spot.

    The Tehsildar talked to the protesters. During this, the councilors and the residents of the ward demanded that the city’s garbage should not be dumped in their ward. The Tehsildar assured that now garbage will not be dumped there, after which traffic was restored. In recent times, the residents of the ward have faced serious problems due to garbage. Due to the garbage dumped in the pond, the water has become so contaminated that people bathing in it are getting big rashes on their skin. Many people have also fallen ill due to the smell of garbage.

    Former MLA expressed concern over the indifference of the corporation

    Former MLA Rekhachand Jain expressed concern over the corporation’s apathy and said that the residents of the ward are troubled. He also took the state government to task and said that he is working to wake up the sleeping government. Jain warned that if the problem is not resolved, he will continue to resort to road blockades and protests. This issue has become a matter of serious concern not only for the residents of the ward but for the entire city. If the administration does not pay immediate attention to it, the struggle will continue.

    The Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple in Tirumala, Tirupati, has been at the centre of a controversy regarding the alleged use of animal fats in the preparation of its famed laddoos prasadams. Following these accusations, the temple authorities performed a ceremonial ‘sanitation’ ritual to restore the sanctity of the temple and its offerings.

     Four-Hour Ritual to Cleanse the Temple

    On Monday, the temple underwent a four-hour-long “ritualistic sanitation” known as the Shanti Homam Panchagavya Prokshana. This purification ceremony, which took place between 6 am and 10 am, was aimed at propitiating the deity from the purported sacrilegious practices that allegedly occurred during the tenure of the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government. 

    The executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), J Shyamala Rao, stated that the ritual would not only restore the sanctity of the laddoo prasadams but also ensure the well-being of Srivari devotees. The sacred offering holds immense significance for devotees, and the allegations of adulteration have caused widespread concern.

     Allegations of Animal Fat in Tirupati Laddus

    The controversy began on September 19 when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the ghee used in preparing the iconic Tirupati laddus contained animal fat. These claims relate to the time when the previous YSRCP government was in power. Naidu’s allegations led to demands for an investigation and immediate action to address the concerns of devotees.

    Lab Reports Confirm Presence of Animal Products

    According to a lab report from Gujarat, ghee samples sent by the TTD for testing revealed the presence of animal fats, including beef tallow, lard, and fish oil. The executive officer of TTD, J Shyamala Rao, confirmed these findings and said the temple board is taking swift action, including blacklisting the contractor responsible for supplying the adulterated ghee.

    SIT to Investigate Adulteration Claims

    In response to the controversy, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to thoroughly probe the alleged use of animal fats in the preparation of the Tirupati laddus. The SIT will investigate the extent of the adulteration, the involvement of suppliers, and ensure that the sacred offerings are restored to their original purity.

    This controversy has caused significant unrest among devotees, many of whom regard the laddoo prasadam as an essential part of their pilgrimage to the Tirumala temple. The temple authorities have assured devotees that all necessary steps are being taken to address the issue and maintain the sanctity of the temple offerings.

  • CG CRIME: Dispute after teasing girls, youth attacked with knife, intestines came out of stomach

An incident of stabbing has come to light in Kota police station area after molesting a girl, in which an unknown youth attacked Dipanshu Sahu, a resident of Pendari, with a knife. In this attack, Dipanshu’s intestines came out. The injured youth has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, a crime has been registered against the unknown accused and they are being searched.

    According to the information, Harsh Kaushik, Sonu Vishwakarma, Pritam Sahu, residents of Kanan Pendari, had gone out for a ride on a scooty. Near Ganiyari, the three youths molested the girls, due to which the boys accompanying them took away the keys of their scooty. After that, Harsh Kaushik called his friends and called them to the spot, then Dipanshu Sahu, Rajnikant Kaushik and Kuldeep Baghel reached there on a Pulsar bike.

    After this the boys and girls started running towards Kota. Dipanshu, Ranjinikant, Kuldeep started chasing them. Near 24 Carat Hotel in Kota, 4 to 5 girls and 3 to 4 boys gathered and stopped the three boys and started beating them fiercely. During this, a boy attacked Dipanshu Sahu with a knife in his stomach. Due to this, he fell on the ground covered in blood. After the incident, the attacking girls and boys ran away.

    On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The youth injured in this incident was first sent to the Community Health Center Kota, from where he was referred to Bilaspur in view of his critical condition.

    Police said that deceased Hiraman Sahu’s wife Namrata Sahu had lodged a complaint in the police station about 20 days ago, in which the wife had told that her husband used to beat her every day in a drunken state. The complaint was made on August 31. After which the police started investigating the case.

    It is being told that Hiraman Sahu had fled from home fearing police action in the case and was missing from home since last Monday. Now his body was found in the forest in a suspicious condition. Whether Hiraman Sahu’s death is a murder or suicide, it will be known only after the post-mortem report comes. Police is investigating the matter and efforts are also being made to gather information from the local people.
