  • BSNL Giving Rs 50,000 Per Month, Rs 35 Lakh Advance For Installing Roof-Top Telecom Tower? Check What The Company Said |

    New Delhi: If you have got any viral message purportedly being sent by State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), offering you a lucrative Rs 50,000 per month and an advance amount of Rs 35 lakh for installing BSNL tower in your roof-top, you are actually targeted by scamsters.

    A fake website, https://bsnltowerindia.com/page/about-us.html, is doing the rounds in the social media which is claiming the above payment. The plans on this fake website mentions three packages for tower installation –One is rural package, second is semi-urban package and third is urban package. 

    Among the several list of documents that the fake website is demanding is  –self attested copy of Voter ID, self attested copy of PAN card, self attested passport size photograph, copy of property related documents and copy of bank statements of last 6 months.

    BSNL has asked its customers to be careful, stating that it is a fake website which has no connection with the telecom company. Customers have also been alerted that the fake website is asking for money or personal information in lieu of setting up 5G towers.

    The Indian para-athlete Praveen Kumar secured gold medal for the country at the ongoing Paris Paralympics in the men’s high jump T64 final on Friday. In the medal round, Praveen performed a record-breaking jump of 2.08 metres. With this jump, he has established an all-new Asian record. At the second and third spots were the USA’s Derek Loccident (2.06 m) and Uzbekistan’s Temurbek Giyazov (2.03 m) respectively. Derek broke the Paralympic record by Japan’s Toru Suzuki from 2021 (1.88 m) while Uzbekistan’s Giyazov recorded a personal best jump.

    With this medal, India’s medal tally in the ongoing Paralympics has gone up to 26, with six gold medals, nine silver medals and 11 bronze medals. This is the most gold India has ever won at a Paralympics Games event, surpassing the total of five gold in Tokyo 2020.

  • Uttar Pradesh: At Least 12 Killed, 16 Injured After Bus Hits Van On Agra-Aligarh National Highway |

    In a tragic incident, at least 12 people were killed and others injured while travelling in a van on Friday after a roadways bus hit the vehicle from behind on National Highway 93, officials said.

    Sixteen others were injured in the accident and have been admitted to a government hospital.

    “The accident occurred when the bus hit the van while trying to overtake it on the Agra-Aligarh National Highway,” said Nipun Agarwal, Superintendent of Police (SP), PTI reported.

    The condition of four of the injured is said to be critical. The passengers were travelling from Hathras to Agra.

    A fire broke out at a Tesla service showroom in the Nepali capital Kathmandu, damaging properties and documents, police said on Friday. Fire erupted out at the building of ARETE International, Nepal’s first Tesla service-showroom in Tangal in Kathmandu, past noon on Friday.

    “Fire has been dosed. It started from the ground floor of the Tesla Service Center in Naxal. The investigation and assessment of damage is underway,” DSP of Maligaun Police Circle, Indra Subedi confirmed to ANI over phone.

    Parts of the Tesla electric vehicles and documents were seen strewn on the ground with glass pieces scattered all across the floor as the fire spread to the first floor of the one-and-a-half-storey house, which also hosted three charging ports for the world’s largest electric vehicle brand.

    “No vehicles were harmed due to the fire. We suspect it to be caused by short-circuit of the electrical wire. Two Tesla cars that were in the showroom were quickly driven out from the site to a secure location,” DSP Subedi stated.

    Mahasamund/Durg. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Chhattisgarh Police has busted inter-state ganja smuggling. Durg Police has arrested 5 accused with 45 kg ganja. Mahasamund Police has arrested two inter-state smugglers with ganja worth Rs 45 lakh. While conducting financial investigation of ganja smuggling, the bank accounts of the accused are being put on hold. This action has been taken with the help of national agency Narcotics Control Bureau and state level special team. The team is investigating the matter.

    In Mahasamund, two smugglers have been caught with 3 quintals of ganja from a truck, which is worth Rs 45 lakh. To dodge the police, the smugglers were carrying ganja hidden under rice sacks. Based on the information of the informer, the cyber cell and Komakhan police took joint action.

    Information was received from an informer that 02 persons were going to take ganja from Odisha to Bihar via Mahasamund by keeping it in a catechu coloured truck. On the above information, the police team was checking suspicious vehicles by deploying force at all the points entering Mahasamund district, when 01 Eicher truck number MH 40 CT 3815 was coming towards Mahasamund from Khariyar Road Odisha. It was stopped by cordoning it off near NH 353 Road Temrinaka, Komakhan. 02 persons were found in the vehicle, on asking their name and address, they said that they were Anil Kumar father Ramkumar Singh, age Bahadurpur Bihar and Siddhan Kumar alias Mistri Yadav father Dinesh Yadav, Sikriyan, district Bhojpur Bihar. On searching the vehicle, a total of 300 kg ganja was found in 150 packets inside 10 plastic bags between sacks of Kanki rice. The ganja was seized and the accused were sent to jail. On interrogation, the accused said that they had brought the ganja from Odisha and were taking it to Bihar and Maharashtra to sell it.

    Under the direction of Durg IG Ram Gopal Garg, Durg SP Jitendra Shukla has taken action against ganja smuggling. On September 5, at 14.20, information was received from an informer that Pintu Kumar Sahni has brought ganja from Odisha to earn illegal money and has kept it in Khursipar. Pintu is short in height and is wearing a blue lower and brown t-shirt and is guarding the ganja. G. Sarojini is also with him. Based on this information, the police raided Balaji Nagar Khursipar near Ganesh temple and caught two people with ganja.

    During interrogation, the accused revealed their names as G. Sarojini and Pintu Kumar Sahni. 8 kg 525 grams and 9 kg 80 grams, 8 kg 530 grams and 6 kg 010 grams of ganja were recovered from G. Sarojini’s house from paper packets and 3 mobile phones and 5 kg 830 grams of ganja kept in a plastic bag and a bike were seized from Pintu Kumar Sahni. During interrogation, Pintu Kumar Sahni told that he buys ganja from someone in Odisha. He pays Rs 6 lakh for one trip. Abby Sahni and Ajay Sahni used to drive from Odisha in car number CG 04 KP 4604 by changing various number plates. In this operation, a total of 45.145 kg ganja, two cars and a bike were seized, the total cost of which is Rs 17.5 lakh. The accused are being arrested and presented in the court. Let us tell you that for the first time in Durg district, the accused were arrested by establishing the “forward link” and “backward link” of ganja. NDPS cases have been registered against the accused in the past as well. One case is registered against Pintu Sahni and two cases are registered against G. Sarojini.

  • Andhra Floods: Indian Navy Rescues Over 180 Personnel As Relief Ops Continue |

    Vijayawada: Indian Navy’s relief and rescue operations in flood-affected areas of Andhra Pradesh continued on Friday under the aegis of Eastern Naval Command. Naval helicopters undertook extensive flying operations such as airdropping food packets, medical kits and water bottles to stranded individuals.

    Flood Relief Teams (FRTs) are actively evacuating people to safety and distributing food to affected households. Over 180 personnel have been rescued by these flood relief teams.

    Heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in Andhra Pradesh, with roads and houses submerged. The continuous rain, triggered by a land-based cyclone, resulted in heavy precipitation over just 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This extreme weather was fuelled by moisture from the Arabian Sea and heat from the eastern parts of the country.

    The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), along with central forces and local officials, is working to provide relief. The flooding, caused by a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal, has led to rising water levels at the Prakasam Barrage and inundation in several regions.

    Earlier, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with State Minister Nara Lokesh interacted with locals at Vijayawada to take stock of the situation. Soon afterwards, Union Minister Chouhan and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a press conference and said that the situation in Vijayawada is unprecedented and there has been a lot of crop damage also in the area, with 2 lakh farmers affected.

    “The situation in Vijayawada is unprecedented. The area received 400mm of rainfall in a short time, such a thing has never happened before. I thank CM Chandrababu Naidu along with his team is working 24/7. The Central government is providing all help to the state. The loss of human lives has been minimal. Teams of NDRF are working here. MPs MLAs, and ministers are engaged in work here,” he said.

    “Food packets, milk and water are being dropped to stranded people using drones. Sanitation work is being done at war footing. Animal husbandry teams are also working continuously. Home Minister Amit Shah ji has sent a team here to study how water discharged can be increased from 70-year-old Prakasam Barrage. There has been a lot of crop damage also in the area, 2 lakh farmers affected. Work has started to assess the extent of damage,” Chouhan said.

    Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who reviewed the situation at the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Authority, also added that protecting lives and property is a top priority.

    Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced on Wednesday that drones are being used to provide food and water to flood-affected areas in the state. He also donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF).

    “Drones are being operated to supply food and water in flood-affected areas. Yesterday, I announced a donation of 1 crore rupees to the CM Relief Fund,” Kalyan said.
