  • The Fintech Revolution: Is Industry Ready For Upcoming Regulatory Challenges? |

The fintech revolution is advancing at an unprecedented pace, reshaping the global financial landscape. Innovations such as digital payments, blockchain, AI, machine learning, and decentralized finance (DeFi) are transforming financial services, making them more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly. However, these advancements present significant regulatory challenges that must be addressed to ensure a stable and secure financial ecosystem.

    The Rise of Fintech

Fintech has evolved from a niche sector into a major player in global finance, disrupting traditional banking through digital payment platforms, mobile banking, and peer-to-peer lending. However, regulatory issues surrounding fintech’s rapid growth could hinder its progress if not effectively managed.

    Navigating the Regulatory Landscape

One of the most challenging aspects of fintech regulation is the balance between fostering innovation and protecting consumers. Shakil Khan, CEO of One97 Technologies, Bangladesh, emphasizes that navigating the evolving regulatory landscape is crucial for fintech firms to thrive. Regulatory oversight is essential for financial stability and consumer protection, but regulators often struggle to keep pace with the fast-moving technology sector. This creates a delicate balancing act: regulators must safeguard the public while allowing room for innovation.

Fintech encompasses a wide range of industries—payments, digital currencies, investments, and trading—each with its own regulatory challenges. For instance, digital payment platforms and mobile banking require robust security measures, while cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies face issues related to fraud, opacity, and potential misuse in criminal activities.

Shakil Khan stresses the need for a flexible legal framework that adapts to technological advancements without stifling innovation. He warns that over-regulation could hinder growth, but appropriate regulations must address the risks associated with fintech technologies.

    Globalization and Regulatory Complexity

Fintech is inherently global, with companies operating across multiple jurisdictions, each with its own set of rules. For example, while some countries embrace cryptocurrency and blockchain, others impose strict regulations or outright bans. This divergence in regulatory standards complicates compliance for fintech firms operating internationally.

To address these challenges, countries must collaborate to harmonize fintech regulations. Global standards would promote fair competition, reduce confusion, and simplify compliance for firms operating in multiple countries. As Khan notes, international cooperation is key to establishing clear, efficient rules that support innovation while protecting financial systems.

    Data Privacy and Cybersecurity

Fintech firms handle vast amounts of sensitive consumer financial data, making data privacy and cybersecurity critical issues. The increasing reliance on digital financial services has also escalated the risk of cyberattacks, identity theft, and fraud. Khan highlights cybersecurity as one of the most significant barriers to fintech growth, emphasizing the need for continuous evolution in security practices.

Regulators must work closely with fintech firms to develop and enforce robust data protection measures. Cybersecurity is an ongoing challenge, and both policymakers and industry players must stay vigilant to safeguard customer information.

    Future of Fintech Regulation

As fintech continues to evolve, regulatory frameworks will need to adapt to emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and blockchain. These innovations bring new opportunities but also introduce risks that public authorities must understand to ensure the stability and efficiency of the financial system.

The fintech revolution is unlocking opportunities for innovation and financial inclusion, particularly for the underserved. However, these advancements also bring significant regulatory challenges. To foster a thriving fintech sector, regulators, financial institutions, and fintech firms must collaborate to create a balanced regulatory environment that supports both innovation and financial security.

  • IPL 2025: Big shock to KL Rahul! LSG will retain these 3 players at any cost

IPL 2025: Lucknow Supergiants is ready to release KL Rahul, who has been captaining for the last three years, before the IPL auction.

IPL 2025: There is to be a mega auction for IPL 2025. Before this, all the teams will release the list of their retained and released players. Meanwhile, a big update has come out from the camp of Lucknow Super Giants. This franchise is preparing to release its captain KL Rahul.

According to reports, the franchise has expressed dissatisfaction with Rahul’s strike rate, which is affecting the team’s performance, hence he may be fired.

If sources are to be believed, the LSG management including the team’s new mentor Zaheer Khan and coach Justin Langer analyzed KL Rahul’s statistics and found that the team has lost most of the matches in which Rahul batted for a long time. The reason for this is said to be his slow strike rate, which does not match the fast pace of the game at present.

LSG has not completely ruled out including Rahul in the auction. The franchise can decide on the day of the auction how much they can bid for Rahul.

    Who will be retained?

Sources say that the LSG management is looking at young fast bowlers Mayank Yadav, Nicholas Pooran and Ravi Bishnoi as its top three retentions. Mayank is being considered a player of the future and he can be ahead of Bishnoi in the retention list.

    Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan

The LSG team management is trying to save as much purse as possible. Under this, Ayush Badoni and left arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan can be retained as uncapped players.

These teams have their eyes on Rishabh Pant

Some franchises are also waiting for the decision on the retention of Delhi Capitals. If Delhi Capitals does not retain Rishabh Pant, then many teams like LSG and Punjab Kings have started considering Pant as their captaincy candidate. Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal had recently announced that Pant would be his priority, but DC has not yet released its retention list due to major changes in operations.

  • Government Launches New Spam-Tracking System To Block International Calls; Details Here |

Detect And Block International Calls: The government on Tuesday introduced a new spam-tracking system designed to detect and block international calls disguised as Indian numbers. Within the first 24 hours of operation, telecom service providers (TSPs) identified and blocked approximately 1.35 crore, or 90%, of such spoofed calls from reaching Indian users.

Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia, launched the ‘International Incoming Spoofed Calls Prevention System,’ highlighting it as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to create a safer digital environment and protect citizens from cybercrime.

This system aims to significantly reduce spoofed calls with Indian (+91) numbers, which cybercriminals have been using to commit fraud by manipulating the calling line identity (CLI). These spoofed calls often appear to originate in India but are actually made from abroad and are commonly linked to financial scams, impersonation, and spreading panic.

There have also been cases of cyber-crime threatening disconnection of mobile numbers by DoT/TRAI officials, fake digital arrests, drugs/narcotics in courier, impersonation as police officials, arrest in sex racket etc.

The Department of Communications (DoT) and TSPs have collaborated and devised a system to identify and block such incoming international spoofed calls from reaching the Indian telecom subscribers.

“Despite such best efforts, there could be cases where fraudsters succeed through other means. For such calls, you can help by reporting such suspected fraud communications at Chakshu facility on Sanchar Saathi,” said the government.

This is another step by DoT to protect citizens from cyber frauds as the system identifies and blocks the incoming international calls. (With Inputs From IANS)

  • IND vs NZ 2nd Test: Who Will Make Way For Shubman Gill? KL Rahul Or Sarfaraz Khan? , cricket news

Assistant coach of Team India, Ryan ten Doeschate has shared some details about the team’s choice for wicketkeeper-batter for the second Test against New Zealand in Pune. Earlier, Dhruv Jurel’s name floated around for the second game against the Kiwis due to Rishabh Pant’s injury but Ten Doeschate has confirmed Pant is fit to plat after the youngster did not keep wickets due to an injury during the first Test.

“Everyone is really well. There wasn’t too much bowling in the first Test. The fast bowlers are all good. Rishabh is pretty good. He was having a little bit of discomfort the other day with the movement of his knee but fingers crossed , he’ll be good to keep in the Test (in Pune),” ten Doechate said on Tuesday.

Shubman Gill is also likely to return to the playing eleven as he was injured and missed the Bengaluru Test due to a stiff neck. “He looks so. He has batted well in Bengaluru and has had a few hits. He had some discomfort but he looks good to go,” he added.

Who Will Lose Spot For Gill?

KL Rahul is likely to get dropped as Sarfaraz Khan who replaced Gill in the lineup scored a sensational 150. Rahul has a century against South Africa earlier this year a solid fifty against England. Team management is left with no choice to make harsh call of dropping.

“There’s no denying that there is a fight for a spot. Sarfaraz Khan was brilliant. I went to KL after the last Test and asked him ‘how many did you play and miss?’ That’s what tends to happen when you’re not getting runs. So there’s no concern about KL Rahul. mental space. But we’ve got to fit seven pieces into six spots.”

“We’re not worried about his form. We have a lot of faith in him. It’s a very competitive environment. With a 150 and hundreds in the Irani Trophy, The decision will be what’s best for the team, but we will continue to back all the players,” ten Doeschate said.

  • 1 Dead, Five Missing As Under-Construction Building Collapses In Bengaluru |

One person was killed, and five others are missing after an under-construction building collapsed in Bengaluru’s Horamavu Agara area on Tuesday, according to police. The incident occurred in the afternoon while 20 people were inside the seven-story building.

“Twenty people were trapped. One has died, 14 have been rescued, and five are still unaccounted for,” said D Devaraja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Bengaluru, in a statement to ANI. Rescue operations are ongoing to locate the missing individuals.

Locals reported that the collapse happened around 1:00 pm. According to eyewitnesses, the building, which was under construction, collapsed after heavy rainfall. “Seven of our workers were on site. Unfortunately, one has died, and three others were injured and taken to the hospital,” an eyewitness said.

Another witness, Mehfoos, described the scene: “We were on a lunch break around 1:00 pm when we heard a loud noise, and the building began shaking. A worker inside the building died instantly.”

Further updates are awaited as the rescue mission continues.

At least 17 workers are believed to be trapped following the collapse of a building under construction in Babusapalya, Bengaluru, on Tuesday, officials have confirmed.

The incident occurred during heavy rainfall in the city, complicating the situation. Rescue efforts are currently underway, with two emergency vans from the fire department on-site. According to a senior police officer, “17 individuals are feared trapped, and a coordinated rescue operation is in progress with support from various agencies.” Initial investigations suggest the building’s complete collapse, with people trapped under the rubble, according to fire department officials.

Bengaluru has recently experienced record-breaking rainfall, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reporting a remarkable 186.2 mm of rain at the GKVK observatory by 8:30 am on Sunday. This figure surpasses the previous highest 24-hour rainfall record of 178.9 mm, which was set on October 1, 1997. The relentless rain has disrupted daily life, especially in the northern parts of the city.

Areas like Yelahanka and Doddabommasandra Lake have been heavily flooded, leading to severe waterlogging. In response, authorities have deployed five teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to assist with rescue and evacuation operations.
