Amit Pandey, Khairagarh. As soon as the summer season arrives, the forest department starts the collection of tendu leaves, in which a large number of villagers living in the forest area also cooperate with the department. During summer, wild animals wander here and there in the forest in search of water and food. At such times, villagers and wild animals come face to face. The latest case has come to light from village Deori in Khairagarh district, where a bear attacked a Yadav couple who had gone to pluck tendu leaves. The woman suffered serious injuries in her leg in this attack. Her husband, who went to save the woman, was also attacked by the bear, due to which he was seriously injured.
Both were quickly rescued with the help of villagers and both the injured were brought to Civil Hospital Khairagarh, where their treatment is going on. The victim Narendra Yadav told that he had gone to the forest to pluck tendu leaves. Suddenly in the morning his wife was attacked by a bear, and he rushed to save her. During this, both husband and wife were seriously injured.
Regarding the whole matter, Khairagarh SDO Mona Maheshwari said that two villagers were injured by a bear attack while plucking tendu leaves, and are being treated in the government hospital. The Forest Department has filed a case of loss of life and sent it. On the question of frequent occurrence of such incidents, the SDO said that there has been a reduction in such incidents as compared to earlier. We have increased the water supply in the forest, but wild animals wander to this side. Keeping this in view, the area of their natural habitat is also being increased.
