5 universities of Chhattisgarh declared defaulters, UGC released the list

Raipur. UGC has declared 108 state universities, 47 private universities and two deemed universities across the country as defaulters for not appointing a Lokpal. This includes five state universities of Chhattisgarh. As per the rules of UGC, all universities have to appoint a Lokpal to resolve the complaints of students. UGC has already released the list of defaulting universities. The list has been updated again in June.

These five universities of Chhattisgarh have been declared defaulters

In the list, Ayush and Health Science University of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu University, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University Sankara Durg, Shaheed Nandkumar Patel University Durg have been declared defaulters. The list that was released earlier also had the name of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University. In the list released, UGC has issued an email ID and directed that the universities that have appointed ombudsman or will do so in future can share the information of ombudsman through email.

Lokpal solves the problems of students

The Lokpal appointed in the universities listens to the problems of the students and finds solutions. According to the UGC rules, every university has to appoint a Lokpal to resolve the complaints of the students. A retired Vice Chancellor, a retired professor with 10 years of experience or a former District Judge can be appointed to this post.
