After deboarding all the passengers from the Royal Travels bus, beating the driver and setting the bus on fire. The Royal Travels bus was coming from Awapalli to Raipur via Bijapur, when the Naxalites carried out this incident.

A team of 5 journalists was returning after reporting the violence created by the Maoists. During this time, soldiers misbehaved with journalists in the name of verification at Murkinar CRPF camp.
