India Women vs Australia Women: Indian women’s cricket team has registered a historic victory against Australia. India’s daughters have defeated the opposing team Australia by 8 wickets. On the fourth day of the match (24 December), the Indian team had a target of 75 runs to win, which it achieved in the 19th over.
In the second innings for India, Smriti Mandhana scored unbeaten 38 runs with the help of six fours. For the first time in the history of women’s cricket, India has defeated Australia. Before this, 10 test matches were played between the two countries, in which the Kangaroos won four matches. While six matches ended in a draw.
Batting first after losing the toss, the Australian team scored 217 runs in its first innings. Tahila McGrath contributed the maximum 50 runs and Beth Mooney contributed 40 runs. From India’s side, Pooja Vastrakar got four successes and Sneh Rana got three.
In reply, the Indian team scored 406 runs in its first innings. That means, on the basis of first innings, India got a lead of 189 runs. Deepti Sharma scored 78 runs and Smriti Mandhana scored 74 runs. Apart from this, Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues also played half-century innings. Ashley Gardner took four wickets for Australia.
After falling behind by 187 runs, the Australian team batted well in the second innings and was successful in scoring 261 runs. For Australia, in the second innings also, Tahila McGrath scored the highest score of 73 and Alyssa Perry scored 45 runs. Spinner Sneh Rana took maximum four wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur and Rajeshwari Gaikwad also got two successes each.
