Bilaspur. Those who failed in the physical test in the petition alleging rigging in the Chhattisgarh Forest Service recruitment process will not get a second chance. After this reply from the government, the High Court has dismissed the petition.
Yogesh Baghel, Madhusudan Maurya, Ghanshyam and 6 others from Bastar had filed a petition against the irregularities in CG Forest Service recruitment. According to the petition, a vacancy was released for recruitment in the Forest Department in the year 2020. Under this, the Forest Service Recruitment Examination was conducted by CG PSC in the year 2021. After this, the result of this examination was released by CGPSC on 3 June 2023. After the document verification of the selected candidates in the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Raipur office, the physical standard test was taken on 12 September 2023.
It was decided to give a second chance to the candidates who failed in the physical test instead of giving a chance to the candidates listed in the waiting list in the physical parameters. A petition was filed against this in the High Court. In the petition, the candidates had said that by giving a chance to the failed candidates, the government is depriving the candidates in the waiting list of their rights. This is against the rules and provisions.
The court had stayed the forest service recruitment process after the initial hearing of the case. Now the petition has been dismissed. After this decision of the High Court, now the 49 vacant Ranger posts will be filled by 77 candidates from the waiting list.
