Tukeshwar Lodhi, Arang. A case of arbitrary behaviour of the garden superintendent has come to light in the government garden nursery in Paragaon under Arang block of Raipur. The superintendent got the nursery locked from inside on the pretext of Krishna Janmashtami today without any notice or written order, while work is going on in other nurseries. After which the daily wage workers have come out in protest.
The employees said that when they reached work as usual, the gate was locked. On getting the information, it was found that the garden superintendent had closed the nursery citing Janmashtami holiday. The employees expressed their displeasure that they always work even on holidays and they also get proper salary.
Work continues in other nurseries
The daily wage workers also said that except for the Paragaon nursery, work is going on normally in nurseries of other blocks and districts. They alleged that the garden superintendent is preventing them from working on the pretext of Janmashtami without any written order.
Displeasure of villagers and sarpanch
Narayan Pal, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Paragaon also reached the nursery regarding this dispute. He requested the garden superintendent through mobile to open the nursery and assign work to the employees, but his request was ignored. This attitude has spread resentment not only among the employees but also among the local villagers.
movement warning
Daily wage workers have warned that if the problem is not resolved, they will complain to higher authorities and if necessary, will even protest.
