The miscreant reached the ATM on a stolen bike, broke the CCTV camera and started burglarizing, the police caught him red handed

Rohit Kashyap, Mungeli. A shocking case of ATM theft has come to light in the district. Late Saturday night, a cunning criminal tried to break into the ATM of India One Bank located at Jarhagaon bus stand, but before he could succeed in his plans, the police caught him red-handed. During police interrogation, he made many shocking revelations which even stunned the police.

Let us tell you that the name of the clever thief caught by the police is Yogendra Singh (age 27 years) son of Ram Singh, who is a resident of Shankar Ward Malhapara. Additional SP Pankaj Patel said that Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Girija Shankar Jaiswal has ordered immediate and strict action against anti-social elements as well as to make night patrolling more active. In compliance with which, at 3 o’clock in the night between Saturday and Sunday, a person was breaking into the ATM of India One Bank located at Jarhagaon Bus Stand with a hammer and screwdriver. As soon as the police patrolling team reached there, the accused tried to run away, but the police chased him and caught him.

Additional SP Pankaj Patel said that during interrogation, accused Yogendra Singh revealed that in order to steal the ATM, he first stole a motorcycle from Jarhagaon and reached the ATM using the same. The accused broke the CCTV camera installed in the ATM to hide his identity. A case has been registered against accused Yogendra Singh, father Ram Singh, age 27 years, resident of Shankar Ward Malhapara, Mungeli, under crime number 167/24 and 168/24 in Jarhagaon police station and investigation is being carried out.

Stolen bike and other items recovered from the accused

The stolen bike, the screwdriver used in the crime, the hammer, the broken CCTV camera, the card reader, and the remains of the ATM machine have been recovered from the accused’s possession. Police station in-charge sub-inspector S.K. Sharma and his team played an important role in this operation. The Additional SP said that the Mungeli police will continue to remain vigilant and active and carry out night patrolling in the future as well.
