Jagdalpur. 3 thousand B.Ed holders who got jobs in the recruitment process of assistant teachers in Bastar and Surguja divisions of the state last year are now facing the threat of losing their jobs. In fact, in a decision of the Supreme Court, only D.Ed holders were declared eligible for the post of assistant teacher. Bilaspur High Court declared the recruitment of B.Ed degree holders on the post of assistant teacher invalid and cited quality education for the students. Now, as soon as the threat of losing jobs has arisen, B.Ed assistant teachers have demanded the Education Minister to save their jobs.
Assistant teachers say that for the recruitment process held in 2023, a gazette was duly issued by the state government and the recruitment process was completed as per the rules. Both D.Ed and B.Ed degree holders were considered eligible for the post of assistant teacher.
Let us tell you that in the recruitment for 6 thousand posts, about 3 thousand B.Ed degree holders were appointed by the government, but the Supreme Court and the High Court have considered only D.Ed holders eligible for the post of assistant teacher.
