CG News: Manoj Yadav. A young man died in Korba, Chhattisgarh due to a krait bite. After this, the family members gave a painful death to the krait as well. The villagers burned the krait alive on the funeral pyre of the young man who died due to the krait bite.
Common Krait is in the top-4 list of poisonous snakes found in India. Experts say that this snake is so poisonous that a person dies in just a few hours after being bitten by it. The person who is bitten by this snake does not even ask for water. Common Krait is a species which is five times more poisonous than a cobra. It is also called a silent killer. When the Common Krait attacks, it feels like an ant has bitten. Its bite does not cause pain. That is why most people do not know that a snake has bitten.
According to the information, Mansa Ram Rathia’s family lives in Baigamar village of Kartala in Korba. He has a wife and two sons who are feeding themselves and their families by farming. On Saturday night, after having dinner, everyone went to sleep in their respective rooms. His 22-year-old son Digeshwar Rathia went to sleep in his room and was sleeping on the cot with a mosquito net. At night, a poisonous krait snake entered the mosquito net and bit his leg. He got hurt and when he got up from the bed, he saw the snake wrapped around the mosquito net. He immediately got up and informed his family members about this, where he was immediately taken to the District Medical College Hospital where he died during treatment on Sunday morning.
The deceased’s father Mansa Ram said that the deceased was the eldest son of the family and along with studying, he used to help in farming. Meanwhile, District Hospital Chowki Incharge Dawood Kujur said that the statement of the deceased’s family members has been recorded where it has been said that he was bitten by a snake and further action is underway.
After the snakebite, the villagers somehow caught the snake and kept it in a basket. After getting the post-mortem done from the District Medical College, they reached home. After this, they reached Muktidham to perform the last rites of the young man as per the rituals, where the villagers tied the poisonous snake with a rope and took it to Muktidham with the help of a stick and burnt it in a burning pyre.
