Pradeep Gupta, Kawardha. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached the jail today to meet the undertrial prisoners lodged in Kawardha district jail in the Loharidih murder case. During this, he enquired about the well-being of the prisoners and listened to their problems. After the meeting, he strongly targeted the government’s attitude in the case, and also demanded to register an FIR against the SP and other police officers in the case of the death of Prashant Sahu in jail.
During the discussion with the media, the former CM did not give any satisfactory answer to the question asked about the Biranpur massacre. Baghel said, “Do not link this incident with the Loharidih incident. The incident here is different.” The former CM raised the question and said that the current Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has not reached the spot, but only Vijay Sharma has come. “Is he the Chief Minister or Deputy CM?” He said that the government has information about those who have been arrested, but the government is not giving information about the people missing from the village.
Former CM Baghel said, “Kawardha is my Rajnandgaon parliamentary constituency, that’s why I have come here. After Prashant Sahu’s death in jail, I have come to get justice. Today I am in the opposition, so I am raising the voice of the people. Whoever is in the government will talk about governance and administration, but the opposition will talk about the people. For this reason, I have come to meet the accused. He alleged that there are accused in the Loharidih murder case. They should be punished, but here innocent people have been taken out of their homes and sent to jail.”
Demand for FIR against SP and other police officers
Former CM Baghel, while talking to the media, said that the police has hastily removed the villagers from their homes and sent them to jail without any investigation. “The government has information about those who have been arrested, but the government is not giving information about the people missing from the village,” the former CM also demanded that an FIR be registered against the SP and other police officers in the case of the death of Prashant Sahu, who was in jail.
