Lakshika Sahu, Raipur. A strange case has come to light in the Women and Child Development Department office of the capital. For the last one year, the employee working in the department was drawing salary from two institutions. Despite having information about the employee working at two places at the same time, the department has so far only supplied food in the name of action. The attitude of the officials towards financial irregularities points towards collusion.
In fact, a case has come to light of an employee working in the Child Helpline run by the Women and Child Development Department for the last one year, working in another government supported institution. This employee was working in Child Helpline since September 2023, while she was working as an outreach worker in Sankalp Sanskriti Samiti (NGO) since September 2022. When Sankalp Sanskriti Samiti (NGO) came to know about this, the NGO informed Nisha Mishra, District Program Officer of Women and Child Development Department through a letter and the employee was immediately removed from the institute. The director of the institute also said that the Women and Child Development Department had not taken any NOC from the employee working in the institute, due to which the employee was working in two institutes by deceiving them.
The department issued a letter to the employee and called him for questioning.
The resolution committee had written a letter to the department on 26 September 2024, informing about the matter, after which other information related to the employee’s salary was also made available to the department, but even after a month, the action in this matter could not be completed. . When Lalluram.com took information about this matter from the District Program Officer, it was said that an investigation should be done in the matter and an immediate letter was issued and the employee was called to the department to present his side. Department officials were contacted to know what the employee had to say about the matter, but no response was received.
The department got the information before NGO, then why was no action taken?
When Lalluram.com inquired about the presence of the employee from Child Helpline Co-ordinator Vinod Sidar, he told that the employee has been absent since October 9 without resignation. The department was informed about this matter in writing in August itself. This case of fraud has come to light when contractual employee Sanjay Nirala was holding the charge of District Child Protection. When we tried to get information from him on this subject, he was seen blaming the program officer.
According to the information and documents, the officials of the department had already received information about this rigging from the NGO, but instead of taking this matter into cognizance, the officials ignored it. The delay in action of the officials is raising many questions. It is also exposing the involvement of officers in abetting such irregularities in the department.
