Would like to be aware that this case of death in police custody is extremely serious and raises doubts on the functioning of the police personnel concerned. It has come to light that the wife of the deceased employee was missing, instead of searching for her, the police, suspecting the deceased, kept calling him and his family members to the police station repeatedly and putting pressure on him. It has also been reported that he was severely beaten. This type of death is a gross violation of human rights for which strict action should be taken against the culprits.
Chhattisgarh State National Health Mission Employees Union has also placed a four-point demand from the Chief Minister and the Home Minister regarding this matter. The union says that if action is not taken on the demands, there will be anger among all the employees, for which the union will be forced to fight on the streets to get justice.
