Mahasamund: Police have arrested two accused including Suryakant Nag, son-in-law of former MLA Kismat Lal Nand, in the ganja smuggling case. In fact, on the night of 20-21 December, the police had recovered 151 kilos of ganja from an Innova car. When stopped by the police, the accused left the car and ran away. Police investigation revealed that the Innova car was in the name of the son of former MLA Kismat Lal Nand, which Suryakant Nag was carrying. The accused, along with an accomplice, was transporting ganja from Orissa to Chhattisgarh. Suryakant Nag had planned to smuggle ganja with the help of Kshamanidhi Sahu. Kshamanidhi had piloted Suryakant Nag’s vehicle in the Chhattisgarh-Orissa border area on December 20. For this Suryakant had given him Rs 5000.

On December 26, the police arrested the accused Suryakant Nag from Balangir district of Orissa. He confessed to being involved in ganja smuggling. Besides this, Kshamanidhi Sahu has also been arrested.

According to the police, Suryakant Nag had earlier gone to jail in the case of ganja smuggling in Amanaka police station area of ​​Raipur. Investigation of other accused and the network is going on in this case.

Congress had expelled him from the party

Although Kismatlal Nand left the job in 2018, he joined the Congress Party. The party also gave him ticket from Saraipali. He won by a margin of more than 52 thousand votes and became a Congress MLA.

But the party did not give him ticket in 2023. Although he rebelled and joined Jogi Congress and contested the elections but he lost badly. After this he was expelled from Congress.
