Chirag Paswan, a Union Minister, responded to Rahul Gandhi’s comments on the elections by stating that Gandhi has already accepted defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. Paswan advised Gandhi to address problems within his own party, the Congress, instead of criticizing constitutional bodies. He said that accusations against the Election Commission and questions about EVMs show that Rahul Gandhi has already conceded defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. Paswan forecasted that the Congress would face further losses in Assam and Bengal. Tejashwi Yadav, an RJD leader, backed Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of the Election Commission, claiming that the BJP is undermining constitutional institutions. Yadav suggested that BJP has control over the schedule of the elections. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi criticized the ECI’s response regarding the Maharashtra polls, which the ECI described as ‘unsubstantiated allegations’.
