Following the crash of Air India flight AI-171 near Ahmedabad, Boeing has announced it is in communication with the airline and is prepared to provide support. The flight, destined for London’s Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff in Meghaninagar. The aircraft, a Boeing Dreamliner 787, carried 169 Indian, 53 British, one Canadian and seven Portuguese nationals. The incident occurred at 1:39 pm (IST) after departing from Ahmedabad-Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The FAA is collaborating with the NTSB on the matter. The Prime Minister has expressed his condolences and is monitoring the situation closely, communicating with the authorities involved in assisting those affected. The aircraft, under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, gave a mayday call before contact was lost.
