Shillong (Meghalaya): East Khasi Hills Police have provided details regarding the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. According to SP Vivek Syiem, Raj Kushwaha was the mastermind. Sonam was a participant in the plan, which involved three friends, including Raj’s cousin. The police investigation indicates the motive was friendship, not financial gain. Planning began in February. The group first considered Guwahati, and subsequently, Sonam altered the plan to take place in Shillong. The accused have been arrested. The court has remanded the five accused, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, to eight days of police custody. Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was discovered in a gorge near Sohra, close to Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, on June 2. Sonam Raghuvanshi, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh Kushwaha, and Anand are implicated in the murder. Raja and Sonam, from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya when the incident happened. Sonam was later located near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road.
