People’s Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti has requested the Union Government to take immediate steps to repatriate Indian students stranded in Iran due to the escalating tensions. She highlighted the growing worry among the students’ families and called on the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene and ensure their safe return. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is providing support and assistance to the students, monitoring the situation closely. This includes relocating students to safer locations within Iran and evaluating additional safety measures, including possible evacuation plans. The Embassy is also engaging with community leaders to address concerns. The call for action follows reports of Israeli military strikes on Iranian targets, specifically focusing on weapons production facilities.
