Air India issued a statement confirming the medical emergency. Concurrently, a New Delhi to Washington DC flight was canceled due to a technical snag identified during a Vienna stopover. This resulted in the cancellation of the onward Vienna-Washington segment and the return flight, with passengers offered rebooking or refunds.
