Amritsar police achieved a major breakthrough by dismantling a cross-border heroin smuggling cartel operating from across the border. The police operation near the Indo-Pak border in Attari led to the apprehension of key operatives and the recovery of 4 kg of heroin. Law enforcement officials confirmed the suspects were intercepted while attempting to deliver the illicit substance. This operation is part of a larger effort to combat narco-terrorism. The police had previously dismantled a separate heroin trafficking ring with Pakistani connections. Key figures like Sarbjit aka Joban were arrested. His interrogation led to the apprehension of others, including Dharam Singh and Kulbir Singh. The total heroin recovered from the operations reached 6.106 kg, along with two motorcycles. The investigation continues, and a case has been filed under the NDPS Act.
