After Elon Musk took command of Twitter, this microblogging platform has remained in the news. The company’s monthly report has revealed that it has taken action on about 11 lakh Twitter accounts in India. They have been banned. According to news agency IANS, this action was taken after the assessment conducted between 26 April to 25 May. Earlier on Saturday, Elon Musk had said in a tweet that the company is imposing a limit on viewing posts. Verified accounts can now read 10 thousand posts daily. Unverified accounts will be able to read 1 thousand posts in a day. Musk said that cases of data theft and manipulation of the system were increasing on Twitter, due to which this step has been taken. The 11 lakh 32 thousand 228 accounts on which the company has taken action were found to be involved in cases related to child abuse and terrorism. This action has been taken according to the new IT Rules 2021. Other social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp also keep taking such actions. Last month too, Twitter had banned more than 25 lakh accounts in India. Elon Musk also plans to make Twitter a profitable company. Recently it was told that content creators can also earn money through advertisements on Twitter. Content creators will be paid for ads that appear in the reply section of their tweets. Regarding this, Elon Musk himself had told that in the coming few weeks, he will start paying money to the creators in exchange for the advertisements coming in the replies of Twitter users. The first round payment is $5 million. However, only the creator who is a verified user will be eligible. Advertisements will be given only to verified users. Ads will also be visible only to verified users who follow the creator.
