Prajwal Revanna, a former Member of Parliament, was convicted in a rape case by a Special MP/MLA Court in Karnataka. The court found him guilty in one of the multiple rape cases filed against him. The court will pronounce the sentence on August 2nd. The prosecution lawyer, Ashok Nayak, confirmed the conviction and highlighted the speedy trial. He also praised the SIT team for their investigation, calling it a victory for the victim. The case involved the alleged rape of a domestic help, with the victim’s complaint leading to charges under several IPC sections and the IT Act. The SIT gathered substantial evidence, including a charge sheet of approximately 2,000 pages. Revanna was arrested after returning from overseas in May 2024 and has been in custody.
