The vote count from the three-tier Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand is nearing completion, revealing a strong performance by the BJP. Candidates backed by the BJP have won a considerable number of seats, totaling 125 out of 358 in the district panchayats. The Congress party has also gained a considerable presence, with its candidates securing 83 seats. Furthermore, the elections saw 150 independent candidates succeed. A significant portion of these independent winners are understood to be leaning towards the BJP, with many expressing their support for the party. The Election Commission will soon release the comprehensive final results. The elections were conducted peacefully throughout the state, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the administrative and security forces.
