Officials in Samastipur, Bihar, are investigating a fraudulent application for a residency certificate submitted online in the name of Donald Trump. The application, filed on July 29, 2025, included a photograph of the former U.S. President and listed a local address in Hasanpur village. The application number is BRCCCO/2025/17989735. Upon discovery, administrative staff immediately initiated a probe. The address specified was Village Hasanpur, Ward No. 13, Post Bakarpur, Police Station Mohiuddin Nagar, Block Mohiuddin Nagar, District Samastipur. A joint press release from BDO Dr. Navkanj Kumar and Brijesh Kumar Dwivedi confirmed the investigation. The investigation showed that the photo, Aadhaar number, and barcode were manipulated. The revenue officer rejected the application on August 4. The authorities are treating the matter seriously and will file a First Information Report (FIR) with the cyber crime police station in Samastipur. Further efforts are underway to determine where the application originated, including the IP address and system utilized. This case mirrors other instances of questionable residency certificate applications across the state, prompting a review of current procedures.
