A devastating cloudburst in Dharali, Uttarakhand, has left 11 laborers from Bihar’s West Champaran district missing, prompting their families to prepare for funeral rituals. The incident, which occurred on August 5th, was caused by torrential rainfall and led to significant loss of life. Rescue efforts involving the army, NDRF, SDRF, and local authorities have been ongoing, but the fate of the missing laborers remains unknown.
The calamity unfolded in Dharali village, Uttarkashi district, when a massive landslide was triggered by the cloudburst. The landslide buried the village under debris, trapping many. Among those caught in the wreckage were 11 laborers from West Champaran, Bihar. After five days, the whereabouts of these individuals remain a mystery. The families are in a state of profound grief, particularly those from Mangalhiya village in the Sarghatiya Panchayat, where eight laborers are missing.
Adding to the tragedy, three missing laborers are from the Ghogha Panchayat. The families believe the missing individuals are likely dead. However, the administration has yet to confirm this. The missing laborers include three members of the same family: Devraj Sharma and his two sons, Anil Kumar and Sushil Kumar.
