The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) will distribute ₹152.84 crore to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh. This financial assistance will be directly credited to the bank accounts of the farmers covered under the insurance scheme. The funds are allocated to cover losses from the Kharif 2024 and Rabi 2024-25 seasons. Specifically, ₹10.25 crore will be distributed to 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season, while ₹142.58 crore will be disbursed to 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season.
The payments will be processed on August 11 (Monday) through a nationwide direct benefit transfer (DBT)-based automated system. The central event will take place in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and will be presided over by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, will grace the event as the chief guest. Additionally, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Chaudhary, and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Keshari Lal Meena, will be special guests.
Farmers from Chhattisgarh who are beneficiaries of the insurance scheme can participate in the event virtually. The program is scheduled to start at 12 noon. To facilitate maximum participation, necessary arrangements have been made at the district-level offices of the Deputy Director of Agriculture and the block-level offices of the Senior Agriculture Development Officer.
