On Independence Day, Mahindra unveiled the Vision S concept, sparking interest in its future. This concept SUV is likely to become part of the Mahindra Scorpio lineup, alongside existing models. Mahindra also presented the Vision X, T, and SXT concepts.
The Vision S distinguishes itself with a unique exterior design. The front features LED headlights and a grille with integrated LED elements, along with Mahindra’s twin peaks logo. The bumper includes a radar unit and parking sensors. Further design elements include roof-mounted lights and pixel-shaped fog lamps.
To enhance its rugged appeal, the Vision S incorporates thick cladding and rides on 19-inch wheels. Side-mounted cameras replace conventional mirrors. The rear design incorporates inverted tail lamps, a reflector, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel with the Vision S branding.
Inside, the Vision S showcases a fresh interior design. The steering wheel features VISION S lettering, and there is a digital driver’s display. The infotainment system is expected to operate on Mahindra’s new NU UX system, supporting wireless smartphone connectivity. The cabin benefits from dual-tone upholstery, redesigned door trims, premium seating, and a panoramic sunroof. Grab handles are strategically placed for convenience.
The Vision S is built on the NU-IQ platform, similar to the Vision T, SXT, and X concepts. This monocoque platform can accommodate various powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric, and supports both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
It’s believed an ICE version is planned, possibly with a 1.2-liter turbo petrol or a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Features such as variable-ratio steering are expected to aid handling.
