At a rally in Sasaram, Bihar, as part of the India गठबंधन (Alliance), Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the BJP and RSS. He claimed that the BJP’s continued presence in power poses a threat to the Constitution, and the rights and freedoms of the citizens are at risk. He accused the RSS of being against India’s independence. Kharge pointed out the contrast between PM Modi’s claims that the RSS has served the nation for a century and the reality that the RSS was against the freedom struggle. He alleged that the RSS, with its ideology, was responsible for Gandhi’s assassination and did not contribute to the freedom movement. Kharge further stated that RSS members even sought favors from the British. He emphasized that the Constitution grants the right to vote to all citizens and highlighted the contributions of Nehru and Ambedkar in this regard. He also raised the issue of the removal of 65 lakh voters’ names from the voter list in Bihar and accused the BJP of electoral manipulation. Kharge noted that the Supreme Court’s directives were ignored while appointing the Chief Election Commissioner. He highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Rights Yatra,’ starting from Sasaram, which will cover 1,300 km in 16 days, traversing 20 districts, and culminating on September 1 at Gandhi Maidan.
